DFI & Negative temps

Hi I've now hooked up my MachII on my DFI Lanparty B and XP2500M.

Last night temperatures were really fluctuating and were always positive.

Now, booting up this morning (well it's afternoon now) I get the following:

Case: 35

Socket: 19

CPU diode: fluctuating between -3 and -7 but will suddenly jump to +7 and back.

Evaporator is at -53

Running at 200x12 @ 1.85Vcore. Using MBM5 and latest official DFI BIOS.

Hopefully these temperature reading can't be trusted?

If dfi's aren't know for dodgy temperature probes, then you probably have poor contact between prommie head and chip.

Its the motherboard mate, I'm sure. All DFI boards report negative temps wrong.

Is there no way then of telling whether I have good contact or not then? (other than dismantling and remounting)

And what kind of temps *should* I be seeing?

I have reseated the MachII and got pretty similar temps.

I am now running Prime at 1.85Vcore and socket temps is up at +47 and diode is at +42!

Please please please tell me these readings are b0llocks!

W00t! Finally!

Fifth time lucky!

Remounted again, but this time without the silly shim and a couple of added washers.

CPU is now at -37 and evap is at -49.

Much much much happier!

Now to start making this baby sweat! :D
