Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP comments

Hey Rastalovich, I'm also looking into monitors, check my post at - http://forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?t=26217

I'm looking at the 2408WFP or the 2709W, both have slower response times of 6ms however they are S-PVA panels and NOT TN.

I normally check tft central, there is a review there for the 2408WFP but we have to wait for the admin to sort out the max bandwidth issue on the website.

Most of the posts I've read say the 2407WFP had the input lag problem and the 2408WFP seems to be better and good at fast paced games.

2407 does not have input lag problems as far as I am aware.

Plus any response time below 16ms will not be detectable by the human eye, not matter what BS people tell you.

My 2407 is lush, I wouldn't expect the 2408 to be anything but

I have two TN's, and quite a happy camper. You just have to be straight in front of the monitor. But Ive never had any other panels, so there's a great chance I'll never go back to TN once I go any other way ^^

If you can afford it, I'd go for the S-PVA

Hey Kempez, I'm still looking, can you provide your experience of gaming on the 2407WFP? specifically FPS games. Does 6ms or 8ms response times on paper really affect FPS game playing? I've read too much and will go into the shops now

Not had a single issue with the screen whilst gaming. I've played pretty much all of todays modern games and never seen any response time issues.

I will say that the screen prefers having vsynch turned on (like most 60Hz screens), although CSS is fine without.

Reading that review does give the impression that it's a great monitor, but I'd love to see more extensive testing into the input lag of this screen.

As the review stated, Dell always release new revisions of their monitors and as soon as they do, they pretty much become perfect :)
