Hello guys

I scrapped my idea for a 24 inch monitor because i want to make an investment that can last for a long time...So i have decided to go for a 30 inch monitor ( i got SLI 285 to power it). I have got my eye on the Dell Ultrasharp 3008wfp but i have a small question...

I presently have a 17 inch monitor( native 1280x1024) if i run a resolution lower (1152x852) it looks like CRAP:eek:

Now i know i cant run all games at 2560x1600 on the dell so how does 1920x1200 look??? Will it look like crap???( I cant stand pixelations)

I would have just picked up a Gateway XHD3000 blindly(EXCELLENT UPSCALING REALTA CHIP!!!) but i have read too many reviews suggesting failure after 1 year...

SO please help me out here!!! Will 1920x1200 be intolerable on a 2560x1600 screen!!

Any videos.. or screenshots will be VERY VERY helpful!!!

Sorry to make it long...:wavey:

why not just put the settings down a little? Im sure if you lower the AA or something all games will run fine at the native res.

He states it's not the graphical performance that's the problem, but the games not supporting the high resolution. Most older games only go up to 1920*1200.

It is not possible to run Crysis at 2560x1600 that would be pretty bad for performance thats why i am still asking will 1920x1200 look bad on a 2560x1600 screen ??

I checked youtube videos but cant make out the difference due to bad quality...

Ive never seen the point in a 30inch screen tbh, and if you are worried about GPU power on a 30incher, save your money. Buy a 24" and a better GPU, you will enjoy your games much more.

I had a Dell 30" when the first came out. Best monitor I had ever owned and at the time I was a hardcore PC gamer. The games that would not run at native resolution did not look bad at all IMHO. I was in no way disappointed. The best part about the 30" screens is your desktop realty. I keep tons of junk on my desktop which made it really nice, that and the ability to open 3-4 web browsers tiled and surf multiple pages simultaneously. If you got the ching, get it.

I got a Hanns G 28" monitor for about 290 quid from Overclockers.

It runs anything at 1920x1200 and I am very pleased with it.

It also has an HDMI socket on the back for full 1080P Hi Def for films or as a tv monitor.

It's pretty huge and a real bargain I think for it's size in that price bracket?

i had an xhd3000 up untill recently when it crapped out... I absolutlely loved it. i could max out pretty much any game at that resolution except crysis etc with a pair of 4890s. I would highly recommend a 30" getting one if you have the money. As for brands the Lg 30" and the Dell are amoung the best ive seen next to the xhd3000. There is no reason to run 1920 x 1200 just lower the game settings in crysis and you will have no issues. you cannot understand/respect a 30" untill you own one and use it. Once you have it you wont know how you ever lived with out it!
