Hello,
I read another thread in the memory section suggesting that my processor doesn't run 2000Mhz memory properly/safely
This is more than a compatability question.
17/01/2011_NOTE: I've recently found the memory isn't properly compatable with my current board.
I have 8Gb of this RAM: http: http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=BL2KIT25664BN1337
Its running on this board: http://uk.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=0ODEkxv4cmlXkqmr&templete=2
Before this board I built my i5 750 in a h55 chipset board that'd run a max of 1333mhz without overclocking.
I want faster. Is it worth doing? I overclock the CPU. I know the memory is overclocked with it. The board has a 'Mem OK' function, I will research wat irt does.
Memory usage on my rig for my games is around 45%, monitored on Logitech's G13.
On my Core 2 build I used 4Gb 1066mhz with 2Gb 500Mhz(it is around 500Mhz
). I think the motherboard didn't process at 1066Mhz, still it worked.
Can I get 4Gb very high spec RAM and use it with 4Gb of that memory I'm using now? If yes, should I use the Mem OK function. Explain what it'll do please.
If no I'm still interested in upgrading
This is what the board will do:
Dual-Channel, DDR3 2133(O.C.) MHz
The motherboard supports DDR3 memory that features data transfer rates of 2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 MHz
Please suggest a 2x2GB memory package. nothing over £200, around £110 is more welcome
I've looked at the market. The latency first 3 numbers being lower aren't making some RAM by the same manufacturer more expensive. The fourth number does make some more expensive with the first 3 being higher numbers. erm. So, I dunno wat God wants me to have
help!
I'll phone Crucial this week.
Will this work with the board? 2133Mhz not overclocked: http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=BL2CP25664FN2139CEU
I consider this as I think it has lower latency than the next option being overclocked to 2133Mhz

This 1600Mhz and it will be overclocked: http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=BL2KIT25664FN1608
and the mushkin. we will be considering mushkin, o yes
Thanks for looking and the help
