What would be best in z370's?

1/ 4 x 8g 2666 memory ( 32 gig )

2/ 2 x 8g 3600 ( 16 gig ) say for the Asus Apex mobo ( has only 2 slots )

3/ 2 x 16g 3200 ( 32 gig ) for the 2 slots in Asus Apex

4/ 4x 8g 3200/3600 (32 gig )

So is 32 gig slower memory recommended over 16 gig faster memory ?

TTL has said that 3200 is the sweet spot but what is the sweet box for amount ie 16 gig or 32 gig ?

I have 32gig 2666 C15 and thinking about trying 16 gig 3200 or 3600

Will be upgrading other PC soon so the current memory will have a home :-)


also the naming is funny like the :
Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB (4x8GB), PC4-28800 (3600MHz) DDR4

and the

Corsair Vengeance RGB CMR32GX4M4C3333C16 32GB (4x8GB) 3333MHz DDR4

One has the Speed in the name and the other has a different ( slower speed in the name )

It depends on what are you doing. If you are just gaming 16 GB @3200MHz iz all that you need. If you need it for productivity 32 GB @3200 MHz is recommended. For me 32 GB of any speed is better than 16 GB of faster speed. But if you are just gaming then 16 GB of faster speed is better for you. If you are asking this types of questions Apex would be a waste on you. Unless you are planing to learn advanced overclocking in the near future. Maybe you just like the looks, but going for Hero will leave you more money for other components. 2 or 4 sticks on mainstream really doesn't make a difference. With 4 sticks you can't add more memory latter. You would need to change the whole set.

3200 MHz is the sweet spot because it is fit and forget. You just go in BIOS and XMP it and it will work. Running memory above 3600 MHz is hard. Especially if you want to run it with beefy overclock on CPU. It literally requires days of tinkering, tightening the primary, secondary, tertiary timings, voltage tweaks,... If you want it to run properly without overvolting, and overheating.

Naming is fine. It is just 2 types of naming. First PCXXX is the module name with conventional naming scheme that is common for all DDR modules no matter what brand they are. Second CMR32GX4M4C3333C16 is the Corsair's model number which is unique to Corsair specific series of memory.
 
As stated it all depends what you are doing. However, right now I wouldn't buy any ram unless I desperately needed it. It's way, way over priced.
 
yes, waiting is definitely the way to go but some of us have that horrible disease of "I want it now" even if that means bread and water for a couple of months

I don't want to be rude but... Are you having a joke with us? They are exactly the same. One has RGB the other does not that is why it is $40 more. You pointed it out yourself.

and that is what I was asking about.................. what does the 2N mean ?

By the look of it one just didnt have it shown and the other had it but both are the same ?


the main reason is $40 difference and it looks like that is just for led's
