CrossFlow...The Next Evolution.

The idea behind this comp is to eliminate most of the problems associated with small comps.

Lack of hardware choices (because of mATX mobos)

Poor Cooling

Limited choices of PS

Hard to run SLI/Crossfire

Insane Clutter

I think I have eliminated all them..

I had started with a Qpack, I really liked it but the insides were really cluttered

Now the thought behind CrossFlow was in most small comps the PS and wiring take up much too much space. Even with the big cases they get cluttered with wires. So my thought was put the PS below the mobo.

Also by using a laptop DVD and putting it below the mobo it frees up the whole top of the comp for any cooler (H20 and Air)

Here is how I began building the case/frame

So basically the way I build is to mount the mobo to one side of the mobo tray and the PS to the other side

(by removing the PS cover I was able to get better cooling and lower the top of the comp 3/4")

Here is how I did the wiring for the DVD

Ok I have been working on the crossflow fan. Because the blade is about 11" long I want to keep vibration to a minimum. I usually mount all fans with O-rings so first I need to cut down the ears.

I mount the HDDs also in grommets on a sliding tray below the comp.

Love the mod project, keep going for the smaller/faster/cooler award!:worship: When I try to do this stuff it ugly as all get out...

Like the crossflow fan concept to cool the case, you should tell CM to hire you if you win. (Got it for my Stacker case, will put it together next week... sick this week:mad: )

First hope you get better soon, there is MODDING to do..

I am the same way, its usually hard for me to do the detail work, plus I added on a bunch of extra stuff (H20, MediaLab,SLI W/Passive cooling, Lighting etc)

but I think I have it organised into a pretty good package.

There is a $1,000,000.00 mod contest through Intel and thats where I got the idea for the small case.

(only problem is you need to be a OEM or ODM)
