CPU Fan Error

OK, so i have the 4 fans (120mm exhaust, 200mm case front and 2 x H100 fans) controlled by the 600T case fan controller and the cooling block fan cable of the H100 (the one joined to the molex connector) plugged into the 'cpu fan' header on the motherboard.

On startup it says 'CPU fan error' and the temps slowly keep rising in the BIOS.

Have i connected the cables up correctly?? Don't know why i am getting this error.

This is a new build and only been powered up twice.

i had this same error with my new mobo i tryed plugging the fans in again and again but nothing help me but then the problem seemed to sort itself out.

i dont know if this will be of anyhelp to you im sure someone more exerianced will explain it and come up with a fix

I had this too with my Asus board. I noticed when i entered the BIOS if it recognises the fan as spinning at less than 600RPM or if no fan is connected to the CPU fan header it will display a 'CPU FAN ERROR' message. There's an option to turn these messages off but i can't remember how to, so i'll look it up quick

I dont want to keep running up the system for 10 mins to see if it sorts its self out. temps aren't climbing to high (turning it off around 45C) but the rig is stock at the moment and dont want to run it if something isnt running correctly, especially CPU cooler

I have turned the fan controller all the way up to full and it still shows the same error message

what cpu cooler are you using? also have you tryed to ramp the speeds up in the bios?

:edit:

if your cpu fan is not pluged in to the mobo that might be why your getting this error try plugging it in to the board and see what happens.

That would mean it's displaying this message because you've connected the fan to the fan controller and therefore there's no fan connected to the CPU fan header (nothing wrong with this at all btw, this is perfectly fine). To bypass this message, go into the bios and set the 'CPU fan speed' option to disabled and you will bypass this message

I have H100

I have connected the 2 H100 fans, exhaust fan and 200mm case fan to the cables coming from the case fan controller. The other 'fan cable' (which is part of the H100 molex power cable) is plugged into the 'CPU Fan' header on the motherboard. This 'fan cable' is not connected to any fan but is part of the molex power cable running from the CPU block where you change between the 3 profiles.

CPU temp raising to 55C within 10 mins and still rising slowly when i turned it off. I changed the 'CPU fan speed' to ignore which has removed the message but still getting temp increasing.

Does anyone know what could be the problem?

try not using the controller for now and plug the fans into the headers on board and see what happens, often controllers reduce the voltage(making it quiter but incresing temps)

just disable the cpu fan speed warning in the bios, By the sounds of it, you pluged you Pump into the cpu socket, so yes you will get the error. Either stick one of the fans in the cpu fan header or just turn off the warning in the bios.

I have got rid of the warning but temps are rising as soon as i turn the rig on from 20c rising up to 55c when i get worried and turn the rig off. Surely the CPU shouldn't be running at 55c on an H100!?!?

What's up with the bloody thing!!

try plugging the pump into a different header. if the fans are spinning up, but its still getting hot fast. Then I would imagine that their is no water flow from it.

got all fans cables plugged into motherboard and temp is stable at 25c.

Will try moving the 2 chasis fans onto the fan controller and see if everything runs fine. Will have a look at moving the H100 fans onto the controller and see what happens then

try whats been said above pluging the fans into the mobo ( the controller might be slowwing the fans down) and make sure the pump is working.

also make sure your not pumping to meny volts in to that cpu

done that and temps are good. volts are good too, not been touched from stock

for some reason everything is up and running as it should be when i plugged all the fans back into the case fan controller. I havent touched the fan cable coming from the CPU block so i think it was just the 'initial boot ghost'
