what CPU cooler will give best performance for a foxconn motherboard micro ATX G31S , the system only had a intel pentium dual core processor?

Many Thanks . Drew ^_^

Asking for the best cooler for a board is all wrong mate. It makes no difference.

What you should have said is cpu - overclocking or not and how much you want to spend.

I was hoping to use it for overclocking a intel pentium duel core processor to keep the chip cool , i only have a foxconn G31S motherboard and just want to keep the CPU Chip cool once overclocked :) and also something that looks cool :)

alot of coolers are designed around the chip set, otherwise they might not secure
i know all the ones i have bought are so whats the ship set?

Again your question is completely open...... and annoying.

If you cant ask it properly then just look at the main website for reviews.

tom i Can't see how it is a open question , i asked a simple question and asked for advice, THE question was what CPU heatsink/cooler would be best for a Intel Pentium duel core processor after overclocking . I do not no a lot about overclocking that why im asking the question. I asked in a previous question will stock heatsink keep the CPU at a reasonable temp (i got the reply of no ) so i decided to ask through the cooling section of this forum for some advice. I was hoping to get reply's of certain heatsinks /coolers that will do the job good as i cant use the stock heatsink and fan to keep the chip and a safe temp.

I do not wish to offend or aggravate anyone on this forum but when i get a reply of "Asking for the best cooler for a board is all wrong mate." and " Again your question is completely open...... and annoying." I DID state that i was using a foxconn G31S motherboard AND a Intel Pentium duel core processor, which i thought was an OK amount of simple information for the question i asked . I dont want to fall out over some heat sink / cooler ,

Hope you understand as i am a new user to this forum and at a low rank so there for a NOOB :/ i thought you would have might taken that into consideration

what type of dual core i know its "intel" but like my i7 has a socket type of 1155lga
so i knew to look for a cooler that fits that socket type. does that make sense?
once we know that we can advise, we are not calling you a noob just that you did not give the main piece of information

Thank you remember300 :) its nice to talk to some one that is actually trying to help and talking nicely as on other forums everyone is a bit aggressive hahah , My CPU is an intel Pentium duel core E5400 (Code name: wolfdale) the socket is a 775 LGA is that any help :)

Is this your board mate? It is a socket 775 if that is it.

its fine matey, now i dont know much about that socket size but now TTL has all the into and others on here will im sure they will be more than happy to suggest a cooler and obv dont forget you will want to get better thermal paste, which will help too

Directed to remember300 ) Thankyou, when you say TTL does that stand for TinyTomLogan ? and yes i will get cpu thermal paste arctic silver ?

Yeah it does im just a lazy bum lol. and should be fine but alot of people on here prefer non conductive so you dont risk shorts and stuffs :)

From memory most of today's coolers support 775 as they come. Just look up your local or an online retailer and look at the supported sockets 95% of the time it'll support 775. The coolermaster CPU coolers such as the TX3 and the 212 aren't easy to put together, if you have not done it before. Although they do perform well enough and I've had an AMD FX-6200 at 4.7GHz stable (aka without prime95 failing) and under 75 degrees celcius.

Also bare in mind the height of the cooler, incase the computer case cannot accommodate it.

If you don't have an actual budget for this I'd spend at least £30 to get something nice and cool with a decent overclock.

one thing to learn about me i have rather bad sleeping patterns boardering on a disorder so i may get a few things mixed up after a few days with no sleep lol
but not TTL is one guy :) if i was you though id literally find a pc sight and look up heat sinks and other cooling methods to fit your socket size, then the ones you like post in this thread and get some opinions on them

ok thanks you jacob and remember300 i will get that done many thanks for everything :) what are your opinions on water cooling for a beginner ? do you get better results water cooling as in temp ? :)
