Because im a non-stop party, i've been playing with combos for this damned bench.

400x8 RAM @ 400MHz

198 secs (946pts)

400x8 RAM @ 500MHz

179 secs (1045) (big difference compared to above!)

400x8 RAM @ 600MHz

175 secs (1068 ) (smaller difference....running into bottleneck?)

still @ 3200MHz CPU:

457x7 RAM @ 571MHz

168 secs (1113) (test seems to benefit from FSB and RAM)

Then to 3600MHz...

400x9 RAM @ 500MHz

173 secs (1080) (only a small boost compared to similar above, but at x8 )

450x8 RAM @ 562

161 secs 1161 (FSB, fairly decent RAM + speed)

Seeing as the results are scaling very little with CPU speed, I have to wonder if my HDD is the bottleneck. Looking at the GIMP in the background (har har har) it seems to be working with a LOT of small files, and those thrash HDDs....

The CPU average is in the 70% range anyway, so things should in theory be scaling....

ok...nothing new, FSB and RAM help benches, but its good (for me anyway) to see how much or how little things scale

Kenny, best result of todays effortd in this damn cpc bench, I seem not to be able to leave it alone, multitasking high tight memory, still more inthis to come, but not today

its time you had a go at this Sach35, you have the gear to do well

I will do as soon as i have finnised the 3Dmark benches for the team, still 03 to crack and aquamark and i will be there mate, then i will be do loads of single card benching to get the scores up for the team aswell.

I think i will have to ask BazX nicly though if i could use his cascade as even though the single stage we made is very good, theres nothing like a rock sold cascade for cooling power.

I also need some volt mod guds for my P5k3 motherboard as it needs volt mods done and Vdroop doing, and there is the ati cards they could do with some volt mods and bios mods but there is nothing avalible to us at the mo to alter the ati cards bios as rabit wont see the bios file, so until that can be done i gues i will have to set my sights on Uk record rather than W/R.

Good work though mate very impresive score you have and i doubt i will be able to catch you with my crap ram and drives.

Yes i see your busy benching the 3d marks, excellent scores i might add,

this cpc is very addictive, so dont start it unless you have plenty of time to throw at it, i recon i have put in about 40 hours to get this far, whether i get to dizzys score i dont know, his scores scale totally different to mine, must have found the secrect to image processing,

Will be back benching for team next week, only got the 7950gx2 so i wont be chasing you mate

cheers for now

Well today i ran one test of cpc bench on the system, but it is very clear i need some better ram and a few Hard drives to be able to run with you guys, the CPU Video Encoding test is not to bad for the chip but as for the rest of the tests i can forget them with my current single drive and ram.

But i will be back soon, i was surprised just how well the S/S done though as it was loading up the CPU with the Video Encoding test to 83% and the temps never went below -49c with 1.7v going though the chip at 4.45gig, this would show me that the CPU is only pulling around the 200watt mark as this is what the temps where on the load tester at 200watts, so where does the 250watt + come into it, if these chips are only pulling around the 200w to 220watt mark then better temps can be had at this sort of load?
