Could use your help for a uni essay

Hey guys, appreciate you taking the time to read this.

Basically i'm working on a PR piece as part of my business degree and figured why not do it on something I enjoy and therefore have picked the enthusiast PC market.

What i'd like to know from you guys is when it comes to getting excited about new products within our interest from water cooling, cases to motherboards etc. where do you get your information?

Is it purely online? Do many of you visit trade shows? How much buzz is generated from community trusted experts such as Tom?

Another thing i'd love to know from you lot is regarding leaks. Do you think they're done by the company or are they just rumors? how much do you tend to trust them?

Finally TTL. If you're reading this and have some time i'd love to know a little about your perspective from the inside. How far in advance do you tend to get information about upcoming products and how do you feel about your role within our community to generate awareness of new products etc.

It is purely online for me. I've thought about going to trade shows, but I never get round to going . I get my info from numerous forums and from sites like anandtech.

Regarding leaks, I think they usually originate from the company in some way. Some rep tells a certain someone who they trust and they leak the info anonymously or it is done intentionally. Either way it gets attention.

purely online, mainly this forum, the TTLC youtube channel and Logans channel. I'd visit CeBit but I don't really live close so that's not an option at the moment.
