Corsair SP 120 constantly running at 2300 rpm

Hey there

Just bought some new fans for my system but one of the two sp 120 quiet editions i bought is constantly running at 100% speed. It's plugged into the CPU fan header on my asus sabertooth z97 mobo. Whereas all the other fans are in chassis fan headers and running as i want them to. Any suggestions? Could i be the CPU header?

Is your CPU fan header set to 100% in the bios? Do you have EIST or Cool & Quiet enabled.... there are many variables to consider.

Your system specs would help.

you may have set the upper and lower threshold for your cpu fan to 100%.

Yup, these guys are right...

On my Asus board I had the same issue and had to go in and "tune" the fan. Thank goodness for Asus's new tuning utility. You should be able to set the max RPM in the bios as well.
