Corsair Readies Individual-Sleeved PSU Modular Cables

Individual-sleeved replacement PSU cables are the in-thing with enthusiasts and case-modders now, thanks to the appealing "organic" look that they bring into cases. There are quite a few companies that have taken interest in it. These are sets of cables for PSUs in which each individual cable is sleeved, rather than a bunch of them. This also allows modders to create patterns using differently colored cable sleeves. Corsair jumped into the fray with upgrades for its Professional (HX series) and Professional Gold (AX series) modular PSUs. These cables will be available in black, red, blue, and white colors. Corsair put up product pages of these under the PSU accessories section. A high-end gaming PC using these cables was pictured by Legit Reviews. These cables are available in complete kits, their prices range between US $79.99 to $99.99.

Nice move by corsair but i have to agree im unsure about the price too especially when there's too much heat shrink at the end of the cables, it would have been better to see about 5mm of heat shrink showing out of the connectors, not 1 inch like in the pictures.

It would look so much better and professional

Could you not get the Bitfenix ones and just swap the PSU end connector pins?

Yeah thats a good idea to do if you dont want the xtra lenght that extensions give you. However, not everyone wanna fidle around with this kinda work, so i think its great by Corsair to do this. Perhaps TTL get a set of these he can look at in a review.

I'd admit after just sleeving a few things (fans pump and front panel wires) 89$ for a full to psu sleeved cables is a bargain. hopefully the quality improves with time.

Aw man. They don't supply them for the hx650 model :/ id have totally bought some as well! Never mind, paid for some bitfenix ones instead.

I don't get it.. Besides the aesthetics, what's the difference between these and the ones from BitFenix?

The Bitfenix ones are extensions to your existing PSU cables. The Corsair ones connect directly to your modular Corsair PSU.

So the BitFenix ones can't actually be plugged into the PSU? That's..kinda useless, unless one's cables can't reach...

Yeah they are effectively extensions. Mainly for aesthetics so that you can colour co-ordinate cables, fans etc in your rig.
