Corsair link not working

Howdy folks,

I finally got the H100i I had planned on when i did my build plan back in December, and pretty much as planned, I got it in Febuary, also as planned.

So things going as planned all is good, except in one respect.

I installed the H100i, redid all my cable management, also as planned. I installed Corsair Link. All I get is a black screen when I load the program. Temps seem decent, but as I cant see anything on Corsair Link, I cant tell what speeds the fans are running at, cant run any profiles (Extreme, etc.) so I really have no idea what is going on with the unit.

The only plus is the LED is lit blue which matches the rest of my colour scheme.

All I can think of is: I dont have a digital PSU so cant adjust fan speeds, etc.?
Any clues mates?

As for you psu i think that is a non issue being the RPM monitoring is done with the fan connected straight into the H100i and controlled through link.

Hey mate i have recently just got myself a H100i and was having a similar issue all though i couldn't see any information apart from cpu temp. I shifted the usb to another usb port on the motherboard thinking maybe something was up with the port. anyways this didn't seem to do anything so i installed service pack 1 for windows 7 and whether this was the problem or not i' am not too sure but since installing SP1 i haven't had any issues since thou.

Already have service pack 1 for winblows 7. Thats not the issue then. Thanks for the suggestion though. I would hate to have to think that its a BIOS issue because as far as I know there are no new updates for the GD65.

After trying the Link cable in various headers on the mobo, the mobo will no longer read my memory sticks which are connected through the usb headers. The memory sticks can be read on other devices, laptop, netbook, etc., but cannot be read by my computer. When one is inserted to the usb ports, I get a message asking if I want to format, but it wont perform a format.

Since my system refuses to see the Link, I cannot upgrade firmware, nor will the Link software function in any way.

un install it and look for the beta version of the link on line. this is what i had to do and then the firmware updates works

Its looking like I will have to reinstall windows. No matter what I do, nothing works.

When I installed the Beta, i get an error saying that "is not designed to run on windows or contains an error, try redownloading the software"

Downloading it 20 times makes no difference.

Same issue, Reinstalling Windows does not work!
Tried everything, it just stopped working at a given time...

Hey Bang ,
I think you have a defective unit or somethings not connected correctly.
I didn't have any problems setting it up on my board. I got it up and running then ran the corsair link update and haven't had any problems.
I'm not sure if a non-digital psu is the problem or not , don't think it should matter , but it might.

Hi,

Ok, I'm using the Corsair Link 2 software with my 860i PSU and, really, the software isn't that great.

Firstly it wouldn't show any of my PCIe lanes as it was supposed to. I "fixed" this by asking it to flash the bios (of the device) then aborting. TWICE now - first on my W8 build, then on my W7 build, this caused all the missing sensors to appear.

Secondly, it seems to just make stuff up! I have PCIe power connectors in ports 2, 4 & 5 on my PSU - these are used by my 680's, the each have a single one connected & they share one that doubles. Howeverm despite only ports 2, 4 & 5 being used, I get readings from the others too - yet there's NOTHING plugged into them.

Basically, this software only partially works. As it shows false values for things that are not even connected, I no longer trust it for the stuff that is.

The PSU its self though seems fine...it does the job.

Heads up:
I replaced the supplied cable for an normal micro usb cable and plugged it in a normal usb 2.0 port.
I fixed:
-All controls for the corsairlink software, can now see the fans and pump etc.
-Boot problems, boots twice as fast
-windows itself runs faster

I gave feedback to corsair about my findings an wait if they can send me an other cable to test it out without having to rma the whole H100i

Regards,
Yemi

Interesting! Thanks for the information. I might have a spare micro USB cable I can try somewhere...I'll see how it works for me. The software still just shows rubbish on the PCIe power lanes.
