Corsair H110 in Cosmos 2

Just to let you know and provide an actual answer among the opinions and gibbering of the mindless masses.

I can tell you it DOESNT FIT.

Brought one a couple of days ago and messed about trying to install it. A mixture of bad design by corsair and even worse design on the case mean that without a little chopping you cant align the pre made screw holes any way you do it. The bracing for the handles on the case are so close to the aperture for the radiator the brace gets in the way just enough that you cant fit it. You can:

Manually elongate the screw apertures with a good drill and a metal bit as we are talking about 2-4 mm out. Or you can chop out the top handle brace or remove the handles completely. Actually because of the annoying way the handles are fitted its actually easier to get the metal saw out.

Personally I am fitting another product tomorrow and getting rid of the H110. Was a freebie for me from a vendor I use a lot for business anyway and I have lost faith in Corsair after a terrible time with the H100i so more than happy to move on.

If anything though, this really illustrates some design weaknesses in the Cosmos II ultra case that are not obvious until you try for the bigger radiator sizes. Found some similarly illogical design choices in the past when putting water cooling in. I chop kit around in various cases a lot so I give up with more specific water based solutions and hoped it would be worth changing what I had in there for this. It wasnt. The big ends on the radiator combined with the poor design choice with the handle fixing make it a non starter. Toying with getting the drill out but that means taking everything out to avoid metal dust somehow getting into the pc and frankly, I don't think its worth it for a current corsair product I don't much trust anyway after the H100i. This isnt the first time the CII Ultra case has caused me an annoying issue so I think I will probably get shot of it soon if I can find a more flexible option. Suggestions welcome.

So, basically it best to go with a H100i ?

They are designed for RAID arrays, but you can just simply use one alone. They are cheaper then the black 4 TB hdd right now, so why not get a red ? Performance on a storage drive is irrelevant.

Exactly, so why are you comparing it to the black? Reds cost more than blue or green...
