Corsair 600t or CM Storm Stryker?

I have been stuck on picking a case for my new gaming rig. Just looking for some input, and what your experiences have been.

I like the 600t for the sleekness, and size. It will fit everything I'm putting in it as well, but it would be a little bit more cramped than the Stryker.

I like the Stryker because it's not much bigger than the 600t, has good styling, and ease of transport with the handle. It's interior space seem so much bigger than the 600t.

I don't know yet if I will run watercooling, due to how much I'm spending on just building the system, I'll only be able to afford air cooling at this time. I am not currently planning on overclocking, don't see the need as of yet with the system I'm building, but I want to leave the options open for silent cooling.

Thank you in advance for your input.

welcome to the OC3D forums.

so it has to be portable? you've pick some large case for mobile gaming!
are you needing 6+ HDD slots?
can't argue with you on the styling of both. it'll pretty much come down to was
would please you more to own. there are many owners of the 600t and the CM
storm trooper/stryker here on the forums.

again, welcome

I own a 600t and love it and yet the stryker is also one sexy case not a position I would like to be in myself although if you need portability the stryker would be better suited with the carry handle, my rig is quite heavy and a little awkward so worth bearing in mind.

Portability isn't a must, it would just be nice. I've got friends that want to LAN, and the ability to move the case easier would be nice. I have no problems lifting around 50lbs regularly, do it on pretty much a daily basis at work.

As to which would better please me to own, it's hard to say. I wish there was a case that combined the two... Maybe TTL can hit one of the two up for me :D

Thanks for the input

What hardware are you trying to put in?

I personally think you should only get a full tower case if you have SLI and watercooling. Otherwise I just think they look stupid.

I've had to make this same decision, but between the 600TM and Storm Trooper. Eventually went for the Storm Trooper and I don't regret it.

Both cases are proper sexy, but where the 600T is more sleek and elegant the Stryker seems a bit more agressive. Maybe you should just have a look at the room where it's going to stay and decide wether an agressive case or a more stylish case would look better :p

I personally think that the Stryker does have better cooling options, it comes with amazing fans (600T doesn't reaaaally, but they're decent I guess) and has native support for 2 x 240mm radiators. You may not be a watercooler now, but I always suggest to pick a good case that's really future proof for your needs :)

Carrying handles on the Trooper/Stryker are amazing but especially when it's filled with hardware it can get really heavy! The second handle is in a 90 degree angle compared to the main one as well, making it not the most convenient.

Options in the Trooper/Stryker are amazing and you have lots of space to work with. However, nothing in it is toolless really and maybe I just had a bad case but for me the thumbscrews of the side panels don't fit properly. I can just slide them in and out without turning. For me it doesn't really matter cause my case stays in one place, but if you plan on going to LAN's, I'm not sure if this would be a good idea :p

Hope this helped a little (:

So what is it you want me to do?

TBH Im not seeing any reason why not to buy either. If you are not overclocking then that means watercooling is pointless. Neither case is great out of the box for watercooling anyways.

Case choice is a personal thing, you just see which ones have the features you want then pick the one you like the look of.

Or if youre me pick the one you can mod to work with your plans best!

Thanks everyone for the replys. Tom, it was a joke about having one of the two companies combine the stylings of the two cases.

In terms of hardware going in, currently I have an i7 3770k w/ 2x8gb Patriot intel extreme master series 1600 ram (viper 3 based cas 9). Currently the vid card is going to be my XFX Radeon HD 6870. I don't have a mobo yet, currently planning on the ASRock Extreme4. Going to put in an SSD, likely a 128gb Samsung 830, and a 1tb HDD for storage.

I should note, I'm shooting for a very quiet system for some audio recording.

Color scheme wise, I would personally go with the 600T. I own that one and I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase, bearing in mind that the extent of water cooling that would be done in my rig would involve either an H100i, or two 200mm radiators. The main issue with the 600T for me is the lack of fan choices you have access to, but the factory installed fans are quite good anyway (a plus if you only ever intend to air cool). I can't really speak for the storm stryker though, so take this opinion with a grain of salt x-).

Yeah, Newegg.com has the 500r on sale, which has a bit more fan options. I might be going with that... Not as sleek as I would have liked, and I agree with TTL, it would have been great if they would have made it a windowed case...

hmmmm... from the look of the side panel it doesn't look like it would be too difficult to mount your own acrylic panel in there in place of the mesh. The bulge in the panel actually makes it easier to measure out the panel to fit right. I guess the tricky part would be keeping the panel fixed in place with enough meat in the corners of not only the acrylic but also in the corners of that section of the panel to prevent stress fractures in the event that anything is drilled slightly off center or over-torqued.

He did a quickie in his review of the case, It would be my first mod ever though, and I really wouldn't want to mess it up.

Tom - Just started looking at those, little disappointed in the lack of front drive bays, so it would be limited in terms of front controllers and add-ins, but it is sexy. Thanks again for your input. It's nice when someone who runs the company, actually cares about those who come to their company's site for feedback.

whats a fan controller?
2-bays is all you need for a bay reservoir.. what else?

less is more of a blank canvas to make it your own.. an very QT quiet case.

Point taken on the fan controller. I would like to be able to put in a Blu Ray drive. Still uncertain on water cooling, never know what the future might hold. This is the last bit that I need to get, then I can start assembly. It's just tough.....
