hi im new here, Boardy sent me here

im thinking about getting vapochill is it worth it? what one should i get?

AMD x2 3800 with stock coolers, 1gb ddr ram and a x800gto 256 gcard

current temp is like 27c idel and 40c heavy load

if not how else can i improve cooling in my pc?

Alright mate welcome to the forums

With cooling it depends how extreme you wanna go?

You could go the watercooling route if you like nice & quite, plus you would probably get an extra 100 - 150 Mhz overclock with a good setup!!!

Or the phase change route, either a Prometeia 2 or a vapochill LS, these systems last for years & are great value for money, you can get a £100 cpu & make it run faster than the £700 cpus, with your x2 3800 there is a chance of the dreaded coldbug but not many 3800 suffer from this which is good, with a phase change system you could probably get upto 3Ghz, which will give any system a massive preformance boost!

Hope this helps a bit!

Coldbug stops the onboard memory controller from getting to its highest possible speed. Either that, or wont let the computer boot at all. Theres a temperature threshold on some A64 CPUS, and below this, the HTT stops playing properly.

What exactly COLDBUG do to your CPU?

often the pc doesnt start, and if he does there are frequently reboots ( i had ervery 30 secs a reboot, a friend only all 5 min)

the fx57 , an new produced opterons, but there as usuall exeptions :)

Fx57s aren't bad for coldbug until you get to ln2 temps - they fly on cascades. It's AMD dual cores that are worst for coldbug.

Almost all the FX60's suffer from it still a great chip though:p

P.S Nice to see ya back Gollum thought we had lost ya there:D
