is it possible to connect 2 wireless routers together without any cables running between them. using an asus ac66u and a netgear wnr2000v3, they both have their own internet connections, read something about needing to setup a bridge and static routes but not sure if thats what needs to be done and how to go about it if i do.

im trying to connect the 2 together so that i can share my plex server with my dad, internet where i am is garbage so figured this would be the best thing, right now he has to switch to my wifi to get onto it would like to make it easier

I don't really know of a solution which wouldn't be a kludge.

One thing that comes to mind is adding another NIC to the Plex server, then have the two LANs have different IP ranges. Then you manually set the IP instead of DHCP and not set a gateway for the NIC #2. In theory it would be accessible from both networks, and would use yours for internet.

But I have no idea how it would play out in practice.

A single network would be a much better option. Or, have a media PC constantly in your network, HDMI'd to a telly. Even a Raspberry Pi would do.
