compy still lplaying up after i spent 240 on it

my gfx's card kept loosing a signal when cpu at 100%, well ijuts spent $230 on a new OCZ powerstream 530watt and it the problem still persists looks like its time for a new CPU

should i try and up the voltage a little bit hence it might be crashing because it hasnt got enough voltage going to it when at 100%

With your setup, you only need a good 430W psu. If you're not oced, you shouldn't need to touch the voltage at all. I'd run some separate tests on cpu and vid. I lost signal on my vid too when I oced too far. You could always try a good old reformat.

I'm orderin up my 600w PowerStream on friday and I'm gonna be a bit ticked if it doesn't fix my problems.

For vid card: RTHDRIBL or 3dmark05

For cpu: Prime95 or S&M

Just google it for those

Prime95 you just use the torture test with in place FFT's (most heat and power consumed)

so if i have passed the stress test with CPU and memory and games and folding still persist to crash i should reformat?

ps. i havent finished it yet ill try and run it all night and see but if i do pass it

Make sure prime95 is on 10 for priority so it's using 100% cpu (advanced options). That should get it crashing. For video stress testing, this is wierd, but 3dmark03 always crashes faster than 3dmark05 for me.

Yeah that's weird. On my old card it didn't even run 2dmark05...and it was sposed to be dx 9 compatible!! (5200fx) :rollingla

I had a 5200 ultra too, not a bad card for $70 1.5 years ago. I recently ran it at stock on 3dmark05 with my barton and got around 250 3dmarks, not too bad. Those things can't oc worth a shit though and that tiny fan sounds like a smoke alarm.

i left prime 95 going all night and it didnt crash to my surprise, but yet when i fold it crashes is this a simple reformating problem

Was prime95 on priority 10 using 100% cpu, probably not. You need it running 24 hours to check stability.
