Computer shutting itself down, CPU?

Hey, my computer has been real real slow without going on games... just getting internet up is a challange without my computer turning itself off... i managed to get a screenshot of the heat, i think this is it.

is my CPU overheating or what lol... u think i should buy a new CPU?

Whats been going on:

Turning itself off.

Major lagg in games.

Slow.

what els can it be if it's not cpu......

sorry abit tired, so i sound like a dumb kid.

1) Check you fan on you CPU

2) Check your HFC is fitted correctly

3) check you tim is not just plastered on

4) Cook a egg on it see what it taste like ......

5) double check every thing above again

that chip will die if its left to run at those temps for too long

There is a chance the cpu is dieing - BUT in the majority of the cases, it's down to a bad contact between the cpu cooler and the cpu. If the fan stopped, I'm not so sure it'd hit the 90's unless it's very much oc'd.

Take off the cooler, clean up the old grease, apply new and put it back in nice and level.

i think this is the first time ive seen a 2200 over 50*c just do what the guys said and all should be good, do it quicktime or you mite end up with a fused mobo + cpu lol

I agree with what everyone said above...

The distance to tj max is worrying also because that means it wont shut down the CPU until it reaches 218c lol..... maybe theres a problem with real temp or your sensor readings?

What mobo r u using btw ? I'm very surprized it doesn't auto-shutdown @ 80/85. (without being told not to)

At that rate your CPU will take over from Nvidia graphics cards as the main source of heating for your house !!

This may be on the right track. find out your tjmax and set it in real temp. 218c shoud not be right. but that won't be causing the shut down.

guys lol... i opend my pc up.. got CPU out.. and what do i see!!! A little string of hair! OMFGGG i took it out and it's working now lets hope it stays like this.
