Computer Shutting Down On Dead Isalnd

Hi, I have a problem where my pc shuts when playing this game. I have checked temps and they are nice and cool, I've tried windowed mode and ive updated my BIOS. My PSU is 850w so i know it cant be that and i can play other demanding games with no problems what so ever. Could someone please help! im loosing the plot!

PC Specs:
CPU- AMD Phenom II X4 960T

GPU- AMD Radeon HD 6950 1GB

RAM- 8GB 1600 MHZ

PSU- 850w

Mother board- Gigabyte 970a ds3

OS- Windows 7

How does he check the GPU temps? in game or after ?

He tabs out and uses Amd Catalyst and Gpu-Z, He gets around 50-55 degrees

Try Turning V-sync and Tripple buffering on via CC.
Dead island is very buggy. A very poor console port indeed.

Ok we'll try turning on V-sync and Triple buffering in Catalyst

And Dead Island is a pretty buggy game, We just bought it in the steam sales "luckily i have no problems" and we have tried plenty of other things...
