So as i'm have been folding for around a week now, I started to think... How long is it safe (for the computer) to run/fold for without turning it off?

I really don't wanna fry either my laptop OR my old desktop, as i still use these on a daily basis, I just leaving folding on in the background so i can contribute

still with that being said i rather contribute a little less, by turning my machines off once a week for example... just curious thats all

oh and temps are good - desktop cpu <63*C and gpu <69*C - laptop only folding on cpu currently and <55*C, so its not like anything is burning up

100% 24/7 is actually better for the CPU/GPU than multiple on-off cycles.

Aye, just like how a lightbulb uses more energy everytime its powered on, over and over, decreases its lifespan rather than leaving it on 24/7.

24/7 is the way to go.....

I've had a few work laptops that go 24/7 with no issues, just watch ventilation
