Hey guys, Iv been looking around to see if there are any small amplifiers out there that can drive a pair of old sony 3way speakers(6ohm, 70w peak) I have here connected to my desktop. Iv seen things like the scythe bay amp but tbh idk where to begin. I dont want to spend a lot on a new hometheater amplifier but id still like to get the most out of these speakers. any suggestions?

Whats your budget? Any old Stereo AV receiver that can do 80-100W per channel will be plenty. There is always a good selection of Sony amps and stuff from Pioneer and Yamaha that goes well under £100 on eBay.

hmm these look interesting. Ill keep an eye out for something like that denon. It does seem to support a lot of goodies, including LFE out. the renkforce, well iv never heard of that company but looking at the specs it seems to be close to the scythe (Yamaha internals for the scythe).

PLEASE don't go for the Schyte. They are not an audio company, I personally wouldn't trust it. That Denon amp looks very nice, good features at a cheap price, espcially iPod input on a unit under 200.

XD I saw it from scythe and was confused but I read it was Yamaha internals? Also Im having trouble finding the Denon unit without 2 bookshelf speakers already included besides that link tom provided...

That depends on the size of your desk
