Saw this so called Trailer yesterday and it has just proved how much they are going to favour the next Xbox again like, they have done with all Call Of Duty games since Call Of Duty World At War.
I do like Call Of Duty games to the point where I have them all, and all the DLC's for them and I usually play it on a daily basis but lately it's been getting, to the point where I just struggle to bring myself to play it.
For me I never had a problem with LAG in any of the Call Of Duty games, including Modern Warfare 2 & 3 mainly because older games were ran on Dedicated Servers which had enough bandwidth allocated, to the server within the Data Center and also the servers were not being ran on overloaded boxes, MW2/3 I was 99% of the times the host and no one complained of lag when I was the host however whenever I wasn't, the host I got lag.
Black Op's 1 on the PC made things abit better since they actually used proper Dedicated Servers and included, a server browser but Gameservers.com just could not provide a decent experience when the server had 18 players on it as they nearly always crashed, which was eventually fixed to the point where I got my server for free for 4 months
With Black Op's 2 though there is no server browser, apparently there are dedicated servers but Treyarch will not issue a list to say what countries they are based, in and how many they have in each country etc.
It has poor Lag Comp implemented in to it, so that if you have a ping of 40ms and the person you are shooting at has a ping of 100ms+ then you will, struggle to hit or kill them.
I have never once received a ping of less than 40ms in BO 2 however in BF3 I always have a ping of 20ms or less, and BF3 is far more bandwidth demanding that BO2.
There are so many issues with BO2 that even going back to MW3 is like going from MW2 to COD 4, MW3 is so smooth and issue free other than the cheaters compared to BO 2.
With COD Ghosts I am hoping that they take the servers back to how they were in Call Of Duty 4.
Apparently it's potentially going to be using the new Engine Activision has but even that engine whilst looking good won't, be used on the PC properly because they will still have to develop the game for the lowest spec platform which is still, going to be either the PS4 or Xbox.
The main thing is though that, Activision know they have no competition game wise that will hurt the sales of the Call Of Duty games because there, is nothing on the market currently that offers the same experience to the players.
Dice tried to compete with Call Of Duty with the 2 Medal Of Honour reboots, but they failed because whilst the 1st reboot had decent graphics the movements were clunky and had issues.
The 2nd one had issues as well with poor graphics, sound and other things such as the hit reg etc so that failed again to compete with COD.
The only time I can see COD having any competition is if a company remakes MOH properly, as in how it was back in the old days or someone makes a different game that is as good as COD 2/4/5 but with updated graphics and sound etc.
I will hold of judging this game though until I see more videos etc to see what it looks like and I just hope they decide, to release a beta for it so people can try it first rather than buying it and then not liking it and being stuck with it, like they are now with all of the latest ones being linked to Steam and I can only hope that they don't make you choose to either use Steam or not play the game, as I really want to get rid of Steam of my pc but because I want to play COD games I have got to use Steam.
All I do know though is that this year will be interesting with the 1st next gen COD game and Battlefield 4 as well as possibly, Respawns 1st game which has not been confirmed yet if it will or will not be a Xbox Exclusive.
