Cheap 140mm fans

Hey guys, I'm currently running fans from my last 2 case purchases and it's high time for change. Do you knowledgeable people know of any 140mm that are super quiet(!) and don't cost an arm and a leg? I would need 2xfront,1xrear,3xroof; so all together 6 fans and I'm looking to spend no more than £50-ish, lower the better (#studentlife) :/

Thanks for any and all replies :)

Edit: I've had a quick look online and most case fans are rated around 1200+rpm. Speedfan says my case fans are running at 690rpm (I connected to my mobo and set to 50% because I don't have fan speed reducers), which is what I'd consider reasonable noise. Is there any point in upgrading to new case fans that I'm just going to have to set at 50% again? any fans which natively spin around ~700rpm?

For your edit I'm gonna let someone else reply, simply for a more knowledgeable person.

For the other question though, the ones I'm thinking of are BitFenix Spectre Pro's 140's... I have 2 blue leds ones and some other 140's, but can't remember which ones they are.
I don't know the specs of them straight off my head, but I think you can make them go at a lower speed through your motherboard or any other speed reducing option.
Although, depending on your theme in your build, it might be a more specific "search" after those 140's. Since if you're going for an ROG build, I don't think you'd like blue ones for example :P

You also have some Noctuas if I don't remember incorrectly here, as well as Cooler Master, NZXT, Fractal Design, Corsair... these I sort of remember straight of my head.

The Corsair's AF ones I think most people here would recommend though, for great performance to a cheap price.

Since I'm currently in the process of rebuilding down my PC from ATX to ITX, I have loads of fans lying around, including those BitFenix Spectre Pro Blue LED's 140s if you'd want them :)

Hope this helped somewhat :)

Yeah, I guess the Spectre (Pros) would serve you well for the money. Could also get two of those Bitfenix Molex > 3x3 pin 5v or 7v adaptors to go with them and you'll be golden :)

Funny enough my rig is a completely blue theme :)

I think these at 5/7v would be perfect for me, but I didn't really consider as brand new they're quite expensive.

Huge selection here, from £6 to £22 each!

You can also sort by noise, speed, select what colour you want - great site.

From an initial look, the Enermax might be what you want - 750rpm, 15dba, £6.90 each

Yeah I saw the enermax fan on Scan, and it looked like one of the only fans that spins at a decent speed on 12v, this is looking like a strong 2nd option. Do you have any experience with this fan? would it be possible to run this in 5/7v in order to get it to spin stupidly slow?

I've actually taken a liking to the fan control in my bios. When a fan is connected to any connector it allows me to set the speed at either 50% (5v) or 70% (7v) or 100% (12v), it's really easy as I don't have to have separate hardware in order to change between 5/7/12v, I like the flexibly. Do you know if It's possible to run a 1x3-pin splitter to something like 3x3-pin, in order to minimize the amount of cables going to the mobo, and have less settings to mess with? Won't the fans be power-starved if I'm running 3 off a single 3-pin?

Sorry about the abundance of my questions throughout, you guys just often seem a lot more knowledgeable than me :P

Edit: I'm also considering buying Corsair AF140's, with white leds. Does anyone have experience with how dim leds get at 7v/5v?

Antec does a cheap 140mm fan in blue. I have a 120mm antec fan which is very similar to that one (albeit with anti vibration stuff) and it is running off the motherboard. Easily the quietest fan I own.

Oh and with the switch set to 'low' speed and when the computer is idling the fan spins very slowly.

Yeah I've seen the antec fan too, my issue with it is that compared to the Enermax UCTB14B It's more expensive, louder and pushes less air (quiet switch antec vs stock enermax). However I do like the blue LEDs on the antec. It's all so confusing xD

I meant that I have maybe 1-4 140mm's lying around if you'd like them :)

Oh wow, you mean like have-have? :P
I would love to mate, it would pretty much be a life saver for me. Is there anything I can do in return? I can cover the postage and anything else you would like

Umm, I'd prefer if we took it to another section as I made a huge mistake in this thread and prefer not to take this any further in this current thread. Hope you understand, will keep you posted about it.
