Case windows scratch too easy

Hi,

I got a cooler master enforcer yesterday and the window had some smears on it after i assembled the pc so i used a glasses cleaning cloth to wipe it over now if you look at it from the side it looks like someone rubbed sand paper over why do they scratch that easy.

Any ATX or greater case under £75 is a waste of money

They fall apart like a muffin in the rain then need replacing. Better to just get the higher price case you would end up replacing the cheap case with and be done with it

This is why i avoid windowed cases now, they scratch why to easy.

@Fodr Kreatr hes asking about the window not about cheap cases.

You can have a £350 case and still have a scratchy acrylic window.

I'm pretty happy with my cm690ii. Its not showing any signs of wear, has an awesome layout, and was only $80. There's other cases out there too that are like this. Your blanket statement isn't true. Now when you start looking at the really cheap cases <$30, then I'd agree with you. I'm pretty sure the rivets in some cheap cases are made of silly putty.

Ye, the 690 II is very well built and very solid, nothing cheap about it apart from the price.

Some cases have £75 features with £30 build quality to form a £55 hybrid flop

If it's a cheap case aimed at cheap features then it's usually good to use. It's the cheap cases aimed at power users like In Win for example that fall apart

I think as ever there are bargains to be had, cheap cases which just last. Of course you have shi**y cheap cases, but there are some gems.

And you have some very poor expensive cases too, although generally build quality is very nice.

Maybe I'm just biased as something breaks everytime I rearrange my Hades which was £60, similar price to the Enforcer

I bought a case for £19 of ebay was cheap felt cheap but it never fell apart or i never had a prob with it for 2 years i only changed cause i wanted a baclk interior and more fans.

As for this case window it looks like someone with sand paper and a grinder have gone all over it i wipe it with a micro fiber cloth but it still scratches it.

Maybe your window was from a dud batch - say X amount of a chemical was needed for the window mixture before letting it set they might of had 97% of X left in a sack and some lazy guy in the factory couldn't be bothered to get out 3% of another sack to mix it properly - or however windows are made, an ingredient may have been lacking is what I'm trying to say

do not use house dusters and/or furniture polish on the case windows

use a lint-free cloth ONLY - the one's designed to clean spectacles

that's what i use

if you do not touch them with greasy fingers, then only dust should be on them

. cleaning is them much easier.

EDIT: also, for cleaning dust away i use a make-up brush.... they are fantastic at getting rid of it

i think ill phone scan and complain and get them to send a replacement side window.

yea dugd thats what i use a vision express one lol but its still marks it.

I am assuming these are Plexi? I would suggest installing a piece of real glass.

You can get a pane of glass at a local hardware store and a glass cutting tool for a few bucks.

If it will stick a PC to a window along with a sub woofer and monitor. I am pretty sure it will be able to mount a peice of glass To a PC side panel.

However, I would not suggest using glass for one it will make the side panel really heavy. and you will frightened of breaking the damn thing. and if the glass did shatter. and lets face it to make it worth wile it would have to be realy cheap glass. It would be extreamly thin. and non safety glass so it will shatter into lots of nasty shards. And I dont fancy cleaning tiny bits of glass out of my components. So realy as a replacement to plexi I think you could forget glass lol.

hmm maybe i will have to put up with the small marks you can see them only at a angle which is what i see from my chair but if you look straight on you cant see them just annoying that you can see them.
