Are you planning to have that lifted off the floor?

The bottom fan will need it for airflow.

I don't know much about this stuff but I'm a pilot and I know that 'dirty'/disturbed air through a propeller/fan is noisy.

This is why a 'pusher' aircraft (with rear propeller) is noisier than a normal one with the propeller at the front - a pusher gets 'dirty'/disturbed airflow from over the wings/airframe.

If your bottom case fan doesn't have sufficient air clearance I reckon it will substantially add to the dB your case pushes out.

Be interesting to know how it works out.
 
Apart from the spamage, I notice the opening thread picture from years back. The well known picture is applicable to cases that do not bear harddrives, or similar, within the airflow from the fronts of the cases. Drawing air from the front of the cases, over drives (etc) and onto u`r mobos can present more problems than they actually solve. A gang of 2 to 3 harddrives in a batch can produce constant heats from between 50° to 70° (depending on make/model/age/usage) and as u can imagine, drawing a base temp this high as opposed to a room temp will not be adventagous.

This might be a problem im having, atm only intake i have is a 120mm fan blowing over 3 hdds in to my case. i have 120mm rear exaust and dual 80mm on psu i just added a 80mm exaust on top of my case ( will be replaced by a silent fan on clear window) On asus probe my mobo is at 40*c and cpu is at 38*c. my plans are adding another 120mm fan at the bottom frount of case and also maby 1-2 120mm or 80mm fans on side window. im running a Zalman VF900-Cu VGA Cooler on vid card (vid card at 42* atm) and a ThermalRight HR-01 with silent 120mm fan on cpu. will also be upgrading to full watercooling later on in future maby and have dual 120mm radiator on bottom of case.
 
LOL!

My case is just plain bad...so i keep the side pannel open :rolleyes: . It requires me to clean the inside every few weeks, but then its always cool and amazingly quite since no fan is running except the cpu cooler.
 
this is a great thread ... I have never really contemplated cooling and whatnot having just left my Mesh case to do its thing ... am getting irritated by the noise atm so investigating the fans and stuff I need to replace/add ... thanks for the informative read.

the case is a tj10 silverston all fans are 120

the case is water cooled cpu/gpu/sb/nb

the qustion is should i put my psu the other way round and should i mount fans on the out side has well on the rads giveing the push pull effect

and amy other ideas to plz thanks

But I'm assuming you want the end result to look the shizz.

So, has to be a holesaw or a jigsaw depending on the shape of the hole you want to cut.

Want to make a round hole 4 a 120mm fan, i dont wanna broke my case becouse my father will not be happy to buy me new one :) maybe you know a shop with nice cases in not very high prices ? (uk only) :)
 
What equiptment do you already have?

118mm bi-metal hole saws are pretty cheap (~£13 for the blade, bit more for the attachment).

If you don't have a pillar drill/very powerful hand drill mark it out, drill a hole and cut it with a jigsaw. Finishing with a file.

And whatever method you use, practice 1st on a scrap piece of anything.
 
Nice holes, i think i can fit only one into my case :D

I think i rlly need to get bigger case becouse HP Pavilion cases are not rlly big :/

My solution there would be

1. remove components

2. insert fragmentation grenade

3. quickly seal case and run

4. re-mount hardware

Nah there's loooooads of cases to choose from out there, its all down to personal taste really.

As for the holes, if you cut them with a jigsaw and want a tip top finish you will want to buy some blowhole edging trim from somewhere as there is no way you will get a 100% perfect circle
