I was wondering if I can cut the molex connector on my Yate Loon 140mm fan and will it still work if I use the 3 pin ?

I take you are meaning removing the 4 pin power molex and replacing it with the 3 pin that plugs onto the motherboard header..............

I have had fans that had both options by default, Nexus, and they worked fine on either.

You may have to check the power requirements of the larger fan against the output of the 3 pin board header

No i have 3 pin connector I'm just asking if i can cut the molex connector and will the fan still work?

On my old Nexus ones they had both 3pin and molex and i chopped the molex off and it was fine. trace the wires and see if you'd be breaking the circuit.

Well it would depend if the two different connectors are in series or parallel mate

I think the easiest way here is if you post a picture and we will just tell you if it will work or not.

The molex top red and black cord are the ones connected to the molex connector

show a picture of the fan and molex aswell, but by the looks of that aslong as the black and red cables only go to the molex it will be fine.

Just cut the 2 red and black wires coming off the 3 pin going too the molex dude and it will be fine.
