Car photos/discussion thread

So just saw this from our lovely boy NeverBackDown, such a beauty... What car is that?, looks like an Dodge or similar.

I said it was an Equss Bass 770:p

I'd say it's based on a 60s Mustang

Edit;
Google is your friend it's an Equus Bass 770, so basicly an abused Mustang.

Not an abused stang.. it's made and designed by hand from Equus. It has elements of muscle cars from the 60's and 70's. Also runs a supercharged Corvette Z06 engine. Puts out 650hp and 600ib-ft(813nm) iirc. Thing is a beauty and sounds like heaven

I wish these were easier to get hold of. There is just something so cool about the Starion.

-edit- they're cheap to insure and I found one for sale. Now to go to Nottingham and look at it..

My neighbour had one in the mid '80s. Absolute monster and my first taste of a turbo. Before the 90's turbo revolution hit here and every man and his dog had Cordia's, GSR's, WRX's etc.

My first turbo experience was in a friend's Starlet GT and I've been hooked ever since. I even have a thing for turbo diesels.

Diesels are all torque. You get a really nice surge from low revs but I have to admit I'd rather something really revvy. We didn't get too many turbo variants down here and even now it's really only the VW's Volvo and Audis that have lead the way for your day to day drivers.
Stage 2 APR tuned GTi Mk 6. Now that was fun! Lucky I chose not to buy it because I'd be dead I reckon!

Reminds me of my mates 2T Husquarna, His numberplate is black on one side and white on the other

Took this at Tescos today.

I think we can all agree that this is purely for optimal performance..

nah! Those Peugeot diesels are pretty much the american trucks of diesel modding. Arguably the first truely moddable diesels. You can usually tell if they are modified if a) soot everywhere b) they've got a goofy exhaust and soot marks. They're good for 300bhp if you know what you're doing to them.

That one probably has just had the injectors mucked with so it makes clouds.

-edit- I like how they're parked in the family parking area.

Lol rednecks for ya:p

Older ones also are notorious for all that black smoke and being super loud stock or modded:p .. newer diesels thankfully are much quieter and no smoke:p

well... I have seen my Diesel A6 Rev up without any cat. converter attached, I would call it smokey lol

Ooooh California, u so funny. Maybe if everyone in America had a VAG 2.0D you wouldn't look so stupidly hypocritical. But no, recall, recall them all! Stop selling these ruthlessly efficient and appropriately sized engines immediately VW!

JR

Thats just plain dumb. I'm sure even without the emission cheats they're a good deal more economical and clean then their Ford/MURICA alternatives.

I think its just a way to get some money into the state. 18billion$ should be enough to run their army for a day.

They aren't recalling them afaik in the state, I haven't heard anything about it yet from people i know with Audi's and VW. But considering its from cars made in 2009-current, that's a lot of vehicles. They cheated the system when they didn't need to in all honesty. So fining them is appropriate. The max fine they could get is $18Billion. It could be less but we'll see. VW did admit to cheating, now it's just upto the fine.

Nope. They chevy cruze diesel produces 151hp and 264ib-ft. The Jetta TDI gets 150hp and 236ib-ft. Both use a 2.0l turbo diesel. and both get the same hwy mpg. Though not sure if or any of VW numbers are accurate since they are tested with those numbers but outside of testing what real world results are like since they turn off some of the eco features. It could be the same but I'm curious if they are any different outside official testing.

No it's breaking the law and VW admitted to it. If you don't punish them then everyone will start cheating because we let it slide:p
I'm just unsure how VW/Audi are going to be able to pay $18B if they do indeed get charged that amount. I suspect some huge loans... although since they admitted and are cooperating hopefully that fine gets reduced. I would hate to see them go out of business. I actually like Audi's.

they won't go out of business, the Volkswagen AG made 200billion€ income last year, should be enough.
