Car photos/discussion thread

Lambo is unpractical and is just a show boat with the maintenance costing a fortune as they go wrong a lot.

With BMW you are getting German engineering which is the best in the world, With a top of the line BMW you can pull up to an event and look classy where as if you do it with a lambo you just look like a douche ^_^

Dice,
have you owned a Lambo? Or even driven one?
have you owned a BMW? Or even driven one?

You do realise right, you don't take a Lambo to the gym, Lambo is used as a weekend toy, 700HP of earth shattering power :D Not to mention the build quality of a Lambo is to die for, also the materials used are almost on par with F1 grade. Now the maintenance, Every car maintained properly is expensive regardless of brand, also i could name you 3 BMW's that are utter, the engineering is only as good as the goal you are trying to achieve!

Also i own a BMW, and i look like a douche in the BMW, and i look classy as hell in the Lambo you know why? Because you dress how you want to be perceived, who the hell pulls up to Spearmint Rhino's in a Lambo wearing jeans and a superdry top, you go all out fine suits nice shoes, and a hooker!

Yeah but they are put together cheaply, There's a huge profit margin on lambos, More so than on top of the line BMW's.

No they're not, also biggest load of ever, unless you categorically have a materials cost list from Lambo, dont say things like that. Do you know why super cars are expensive, because they sell ~10/15 of them a year, do you know how much R&D goes into a development of a supercar? Have you ever been part of a R&D team when developing technologies like active aero? or even a spoiler? Its expensive as hell! Also if you think they're put together cheaply, go drive a V10 R8, then go drive the Lambo...then you can talk about whats cheap!

Hmm, most BMW "M" drivers that I've seen pull up to events are, simply put, utter pricks. Usually because they can't afford a 'supercar' but still want to look rich...

Really? Because I know a lot of Supercar owners and a lot of BMW M owners and I know who the pricks are! I also know 8563 Limited Edition Corsa owners that are more 'prickish' than my Supercar friends! Also saying people buy BMW M cars because they cant afford a Supercar, that is the most narrow-minded extreme amount of shit ive ever heard! What do you drive? A Ford Focus Ghia? Why...because you cant afford a Focus RS? See what im getting at, a Focus RS is a 20K car and a normal Focus is a 10K car, people live within there means, if they can afford a M6, and not a 458, buy a M6 use it enjoy it, and save to when you can get a 458!

*Mic Drop*

haters....

I don't own any cars but I have been a passenger in a lambo when I was around 19, It was ok but honestly didn't do anything for me and pretty much all of my family in Berlin owns top of the line BMW's or Mercs but over there it's not a big thing like it is in England where you base your whole life, Identity and status around what automobile you have parked in your driveway.

You don't need a BMW for that :p *Jokes*

Get some pics up of your beamer, wouldn't mind seeing it :)

I like being a douche, live life with no given

*ill happily take a ban for swearing*

I am looking forward to seeing my uncles new car though it's looks purdy, Supercars on the other hand have never done anything for me, They look like over the top cheapy toys and guys buy them to make up for a lack of something they are missing, Usually in the trouser department XD

Just comes down to person preference :)

I'd prefer to cruise in a nice luxury BMW or even a Bentley with lush interior rather than something that does 7 trillion miles a second ^_^

taxi-demo-berlin-2.jpg

Same goes for Greek Taxis. My dad is a taxi driver he brought a mercedes w211 from germany 5 years ago the thing has 600K KM on it still doesn't skip a beat

Personally i'd rather have an expensive motorcycle that costs a lot less than a supercar and i would still go past you with my front wheel in the air sticking my fingers up :)

My cousin in Berlin is currently a taxi driver just while he pays for his uni and the regulations they have to follow are immensely strict both in the condition of the car and the driver, Let's just say if those same regulations were put into place in England most of the taxis would be scrapped and most drivers would have their licenses revoked ^_^

I'd love a bike but not in the city, there are just too many idiots.

An example is that outside where I live currently there's a t-junction and there's a lot of bikers that go passed on their way to rally's and the like and the amount of bikers that have been knocked off due to car drivers doing u-turns in the middle of the road or just pulling out is immense and that's not just England I see it happen in Berlin too, Car owners just don't look at bikers as human I'm sure of it.

Guys, Guys, GUYS! All chill a bit I guess none of us are in the financial situation to argue about any sportscar and how well made or not they are until we drove them. I was sitting in some seriously awesome cars, cars which many see as an absolute dream ride and others call utter shite or described them as being not a proper super car.
What I was about to actually tell you guys is my experience with sportscars.

Audi%20A4%20Cabrio%202.jpg

Yes this is a sportscar, why? Because it was the first car I owned with over 100HP

Around the time (2008) I got that A4 my dad had an RS6 with "only" 450HP
And I of course drove it as often as I could!
Audi%20RS6%203.jpg

It's also the car we drove up to Norway :D

But after ~5 years of owning the RS6 it got boring (according to my dad) so he got us a street legal racecar to build up and play around with.

VW%20Beetle%20RSI%206.jpg

Yes this is a Racebeetle!

It was noisy, it was warm because the motor heat went straight into the cockpit (because racecar) and it was unpractical as hell to use as a daily, but we happily gave up the rs6 and my a4 for that little monster!

Some years later (2011) I was offered a weekend with an R8 by my Audi Dealership of trust.

"only" 400HP but built absolutely perfect, even though the suspension was waaaayy too hard in normal mode and felt solid in sport mode you never had the fear inside that something would fall apart because nothing rattled, nothing cracked it was an absolute solid car.

In the meanwhile the Racebeetle had been sold and replaced by an Porsche 911

Again a car I drove with "only" 350HP but a completely new experience with the rear motor and RWD I would happily use it as a daily btw. :D

some days ago I was able to drive the R8 again and it was just like I had it in my memories, way too hard

But all these Sporty cars have never beaten the experience I had with the absolute, no compromises most badass car in the entire flipping world.

A rented Skoda Fabia.
Yes I'm absolutely serious, I rented that cutie when I had my holidays in Iceland ~2 years ago.
It was slow, horrible to drive (the understeer was immense) and evrything rattled like there was no morning.

P1010202.jpg

But this is what it made the best car ever. The scenery and the carzy stuff I experienced with it.

There is just something special about driving a car with 100k miles on it's back through complete darkness in the wilderness of Iceland

I hope you enjoyed all these pics and my little story time

Nice story but there's no way you're letting me believe that a Skoda Fabia is your favourite car out of that array. Just imagine you had the RS6 in Iceland!

It was the best, of course if I would have that rs6 with me it would have most likely been a different story.

And btw, apart from the stuff I made with that Skoda I'd take the Porsche over everything anytime

RS6 would be my pick of those. Would take all my gear everywhere. Fast as.... or slow as you like. Very impressive collection there!

Cars are a very personal taste. Some see them as just transport (we call them blind) and others as a status symbol or object of desire for looks, performance or the lifestyle.

It's the experience that makes the memories. That includes fantastic scenery or hours waiting for a tow truck and the idiosyncrasies of Italian automotive electrical technology and application (I had 2 Alfas -I'm qualified to comment)

And yes TopGear established that the fastest car in the world is, in fact a rental ;)

So just saw this from our lovely boy NeverBackDown, such a beauty... What car is that?, looks like an Dodge or similar.

I'd say it's based on a 60s Mustang

Edit;
Google is your friend it's an Equus Bass 770, so basicly an abused Mustang.

Going to go see one of these at the weekend :D . The e30 I was going to see has sadly sold while I was away at a festival.
