Car photos/discussion thread

Alfa want some of that sweet BMW money. This is their new car. They're also going to be relaunching in the US (presumably because fiat haven't done too badly in the states). Best bit about it is there will be a V6 engine version. The engine will be made by ferrari.

Apologies for the guy in the photo giving the obscene gesture so i blurred him out for the sake of the kids. Its nit me btw. This is a mitsubishi mirage cyborg from 1989 with a 4g63t engine. This my friends is a scarily fast car and as far as i can tell super rare at this point. It is tuned to about 350 at the minute but there are still a few things that we need to do to it before it becomes dangerous. We have a new upgraded fmic waiting to go in for example. Our only problem is finding somewhere to sell something so rare and ridiculous. But we are hoping once the new ic is installed that we will be able to push it over the 400 mark with a proper tune ans its just in a low boost tune atm but that is the goal. Does anyone know forums that specialise is selling rare beasts other than gumtree

Is it me or does that sit extremely low on the arches compared with the ground? Or have I been looking at too many race cars.

On that subject... this was incredible. I'm not missing another year, wanted to go so badly when the weekend came around.

I think the owner has forgot to have it stanced yo.

Driftworks' forum occasionally has rare non drift cars so it'd be worth checking it out.

Also speaking of them, look what they've now got.

Cheers dude never thought of them.

Have a question you guys might know the answer to.
I've got a 2000 VW Passat Saloon 1.9TDi and the boot lock won't lock any more, it will keep spinning clockwise when trying to lock it ( I can hear a click every time the key passes the lock point). However when turning left to unlock it stops where it's supposed to be (also if kept there for a few seconds central locking works which is normal) and doesn't spin like when I turn it right.
Remote locking for boot didn't work for a while but manual locking never had a problem until now.
Any ideas what it could be? I dread having to go to VW dealership and getting charged £200 for changing a spring or something really simple.

Still looking at a 206 xsi, I'd love a gti but I can't afford the insurance yet. Hard to find a nice xsi that hasn't been written off, chavved up or with decent mileage :(

EDIT: Ok scrap the xsi plan, i've fallen for 306 gti-6's. http://goo.gl/32NIHI just a shame that one is in NI. Same colour as my 206 (diablo red)

Brabus' tuning division called startech have released a special defender for 69kEUR. only 68 will be made. Looks odd but you can see why they did the grill.

There's a nice 4C up the road from me - But with Aussie exchange rate and import duties it's over $100k. Gulia will be about the same I think. $60-100k range.
I've had two Alfas - well two and a bit with spare parts - I think every car enthusiast has to. Makes you appreciate VW's and cars where the buttons actually work!
Although gotta admit the Mk IV Golf I had was nowhere near as fun as my '82 Ti Sud. Twin 40mm Webers, lumpy cams. Heaven.

No stance tho MrKambo - just good camber (and poor tyre wear) ;)

Ouch thats awful! I feel sorry for you Aussies. You do get better deals for imported cars from japan if thats any trade off (and possibly a way you could get another alfa.. ;) )

Going car shopping next weekend. I'm going to go look at a BMW e30 318 3 series convertible and a mark II golf. fingers crossed :D
