It has been off the road for the last year but I am hoping to have it back on at the start of next month.

I will be odering a few parts next week which include

Re amemiya ad9 bonnet in carbon
Re amemiya street diffuser in carbon
99 spec rear spoiler
Rear window seal replaced
New speakers
Full service

Then after all that lot is done the car will be getting a full respray and shortly after that I will be taking it to the UK for mapping.

You don't know how jealous I am . What is it like living with that engine? I've heard so many bad things about rotaries yet I want one so badly.

Haha you wont be jealous if you saw my wallet after all that lot ha. I have had it 7 years now and have been doing lots of work on it since. It was completely stock bar the wheels. I have had to do 2 rebuilds in that time, once was because the oil feed messed up and caused the bearing to run dry which was a costly fix. The other was because of detonation, now I am not 100% of this but we figured it was probably down to a bad map. Now I am not blaming the guy who did it but lets just say I am bringing it to someone else this time round as there was other little things too.

Rotaries need attention, they need to be regularly serviced. Oil and filter every 3k km. Its not too bad because if you do it yourself you can do it for 40e as the filter is the same as an mx5. You do need to look after them and a few select mods like a new ecu and a good map go along way. If they aren't looked after the go very quickly and that is where the bad rep comes from. It is more to do with the owners than the car. That said they are a great fun car and love to be revved. If you do decide to get one go for a later model as the older ones are starting to show signs of age. Mostly interior stuff like loose plastics and broken clips.

Here is a few pics of my last rebuild.

Your maintenance schedule is like me and my pushbikes :S. I'd love to get one but I'm only 18 and the insurance is daaft (~15k).

CARBON TIPS!! :D

Love the rotary! ive actually had the pleasure of driving a Rex before, it was only 380hp, but the power delivery was insane! it just wanted to keep pulling at pulling!

Barnsley, you'll love this

Oh god yesssssssss. thats what I call a Godzilla.

guys, I had a go with my friend's punto. I really like them and I'm quite tempted to go have a look at this, as an Alfa is much classier ;) :

Only issue is its done 103k miles and its an Alfa. I'm still really tempted though. Its a diesel and its about £1,590. It has leather seats, which are heated and loads of other electical goodies (as its an alfa I doubt it'd work). Insurance wise its not that great but as I don't drive to work anymore It won't be thaat bad. Opinions?

-edit- Car of the day
