Good one. :)

He was only on an old 600 worth about 1% of what that tesla costs. :p

Couple of people I know have ordered the model 3, few years wait on them though.

Oh man that RS200 though !

I had a Scalextric one of those when I was a kid, 4WD with a rubber band :D

One of the best bits about Dirt 2 that was, though when you got it the competition didn't really stand a chance :) I always loved zooming out to the most basic dash and wheel ever :D

They had 2 in the paddock, the one with all the bodywork open was in the show and shine area.
The 2nd was next to a race team truck, this one looks to have been used abit, the other could be straight out of the heritage collection.

Its the biggest collection of mk2 rs2000's ive seen.
No pno 641t though (only the older people will get that). :D

I've booked Goodwood FOS again, are you going this year ?

I doubt it dude. The person who used to pick me up and take me doesn't really bother with me any more (my cousin) and I don't think I could talk my wife into going. She gets pretty anxious when she has to drive (I don't, see). Plus all those people? yeah I think that would really mess her head up, wouldn't want to put her through it.

I went three years in a row and I must say, by the third year it all seemed a bit samey.

But hey, never know. It might be a good reason to get in contact with him. I think I upset him when I didn't invite him to my wedding but we were on a budget and kept it very low key (only direct family like brothers and sisters etc). Mind you what am I saying? he promised to come down twice and blew me out so yeah, don't think it was something I did.

I'll LYK dude.

I just realised I never posted in here again after I replaced my Seat Cordoba.

Had this for about 10 months

We had a 9-5 2.0t recently for all of 2 days before it gave up on the dual carriage way, turned out the previous owner failed to look after the oil and flush the sump filters. R.I.P was possibly the most comfortable cars I've ever has the pleasure to ride in.

Yeah its a real killer on these, thankfully this came with tons of service history and well stamped book. It's barely been driven the last few years (think for a few stamps there was less than 2k between services.

Still, paranoia meant the first thing I did after insuring it was drive to a friends yard and get it up on the ramps. Did new oil, air and fuel filters and an oil change; no sign of sludge in the sump.

Considering this one (2002) is based on a Vectra it's shocking how comfortable it is to drive. Done a few 200+ mile runs and no fatigue whatsoever, doing that in my Cordoba or mk3 Astra now would ruin me.

Yeah Saabs, even the Vauxhall ones are very sturdy and comfy.

It's always the turbos that go on them though, leaving you with a hard choice. I suppose it's better these days with the internet and so on (easy to get used parts) but back in the day it was £2000+ for a new turbo unit.

Have you had the firewall checked? don't they crack on these cars?

Yeah the bulkhead was known to split (a problem inherited from the Cavalier I believe) but I don't think it was hugely common, just one of those things to check or look out for. I've not had it professionally checked, but I've checked it over myself and can't see any evidence of it; no movement etc.

A replacement for the turbo isn't that bad really (thanks to the internet) but I'm not too worried about it, if it goes it goes. The car only cost me £600 with 12 months MOT

The other concern with them is the Direct Ignition Cassette. Mine sometimes throws misfire fault codes (always throws both codes simultaneously for cylinder 1+2 and 3+4), except I've not noticed a single misfire and it's run flawlessly the entire time. It's just the sensor in the DIC from being cooked on top of the engine.
I did buy an OBD II reader to clear the codes when they come up but i'll have to replace the DIC eventually because once it fails it won't run.
Shame genuine Saab ones are getting hard to find and also ruddy expensive.
