Right so next year (yeh long way off I know.) Im going to be learning to drive and hopefully have it nailed before my 22nd b'day as a nice little present to myself. So have been looking around at cars ect ect as you do and found a couple that I quite like for around £1300 which is fine and dandy now were not talking anything that has a v10 more like a 1.2/1.3. (corsa/golf as im after something that looks half decent and yes I understand it'll most likely get scratched and dinged but again I want it to look half decent and be reliable as I'll be doing some long non motorway trips in it.)
So how on earth do insurance company's get to charge you 5k+ for a years insurance fully comp and the same for third party ( not that Id go that way).
Now I understand Im a first time driver but come on talk about making it hard.
And it gets even worse if I go for a brand new car sure I can afford the repayments but the 9k insurance bill for the year takes the ...
I understand why insurance is there and why it costs so damn much, just wish not all new drivers were seen as chavs that want a bottle of nos attached to them at the hip.
And no, I don't believe on putting a parent/family member on the policy as they wont ever be driving it and it feels wrong.
