Hi everyone and any help would be kindly appreciated.

I have the following specs/settings:

Gigabyte Z77x-UP7/2700k (@4.5 ghz 1.32v)
4 X corsair GT 2133mhz ram@1600 (imc 1.2v/vtt 1.2v)
ASUS dcuII GTX 580 (not overclocked)
Corsair H60
Corsair GT 120gb ssd
Lian LI PC-8IR
onboard audio being used
corsair AX1200 with braided cables

Its a shame I spent good money on this ram and cant run it at its stated speeds. Whether I have a weak IMC or bad overclock I dont know.
I`ve run memtest and can play all games for hours on end without any BSOD.

I`ve tried XMP profile with and without added voltages to no avail. Ive also tried upping the voltage to 1.6v and again with no luck
I had this prob too with my previous sniper 2 mobo but at least UP7 boots (sniper 2 didnt) at 2133 mhz and passes one loop of intel burn test.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Also is it true u shouldnt exceed 1.2v on imc because the xmp profile with the sniper 2 set my imc to 1.35v!

did you manually set the timings for the ram i have the 4x4gb 2133 mhz domi gt kit also and mine runs at the rated speed with the rated timings at 1.5v i cant remeber the timings off the top of my head but if you have a look in my sig on the cpuz validator it has the timings required

yeah you have to set it up manually, with high timings it can need volts etc playing with.

Please tell me you at least tried XMP before putting it all in yourself with an overclock and then working on lowering some of the extra volts?????

If not, you know what to do now :D

Well first of all thnks for your response you guys and from no less than the guvner himself!

I`m honoured and glad you get the time to listen in on these forums! I guess ure a real overclocker! lol

Thnks for the suggestions, been tinkering with the settings and managed to get 2 loops of IBT by lowering the IMC and VTT. In truth though, looks like I`ll have to follow TTL`s advice and start from scratch as I went straight in with my overclock.
Will keep you posted!

Kind regards

Try XMP and go from there. Even XMP will be running some higher volts than needed but its a good place to take settings from as a start and then work on it from there.

Thnks again TTL

I`ve had some success.

1866mhz/9-9-9-24 - Managed to pass a complete set of IBT at 1.12v VTT and IMC on auto (0.925v). DRAM voltage- 1.58v

Im happy with this to begin as im using a much lower VTT (compared to 1.2v previously) and I also I managed 5 passes on IBT with these settings at 2133mhz.

I`m sure ill get to fine tune these settings given a little more time!
