1 beep and 3 is indicative of gfx failure.
I have known a case to short out a board so just want to rule that out since its the only changed factor bar the fans.
If you had access to another PC you would be able to test the drive and card
The mobo did take a couple of accidental knocks in transit to its new case but nothing terrible i dont think. The hard drives were moved a couple of times, they were never dropped or moved around too much. I will say thoughi booted to windows once. After that i coyldnt get it again. And no i dont have a bootable usb
Ah the black and white case i remember now
Well I am at a loss as to what to suggest as your not able to troubleshoot effectively.
Do you have a m8 locally that has access to a USB stick you can create a bootable from? or even has a sapre pc?
Hmm i possibly do, but we both work and it probably wouldnt be till next week till i saw him next. Im just tempted to buy a new board to see if that would fix it tbh
Well i wanted to upgrade anyway to a z170 and a 6700k but its a tad shy out my price range for the moment, and if it were the case that my SSD was gone, then i wouldnt be any better off really. I dont really know what direction to go
So i just bought a cheap mobo. It was 39.99. Not exactly amazing but at this point i just want to rule out my current mobo being the cause of the problem.
Isn't 3-Beeps indicating a problem with the RAM? Maybe removing one stick to check or relocating them in the other two slots to check would help narrowing it down.
Other than that, 3-Beeps could mean mainboard failure like i had on my Dell Pavillion PC from the shelf, but that might be a Dell specific Beep code from 8+ years ago).
