Well it powers up as in the fans spin and the four leds go on but nothing comes up on the screen. So no the system doesn't hit post.

No, the only thing I haven't tried changing is the PSU and graphics card. Unfortunately I don't have another PCIe or even PCI graphics card.

:(

if the system doesnt hit post its either of those 4 things. Memory, CPU, Graphics or PSU. you've ruled out CPU and mem, so its either of the last two thats causing it not to hit post.

I don't have a flat mate, lol. I'm at home for the summer at parents house.

Yeah, in fact it has loads of power requirement slots - 24 pin plus another 4 pin plus another 4 pin plus a 3 pin floppy.

Out of interest how do you like the MSI board?

Well it seems better than the 754 socket board i was using. The only other board i could of gone for really was the Abit 939 version which uses the same chipset to my old board, which is the K8T800. Even though i am using the same cables and connectors i have found an extremely large increase in windows boot up time - it might be the SATA controller for this board. My only dislike again is with the temerpature read outs. I've flashed the bios with several bios versions. All but the latest just report 40 for the cpu temp - this is stuck at 40 doesnt budge with load or anything. The latest however doesnt report 40 but reports -100 (or 156 in bios which i reckon is 256 - 100, basic integer stuff), but still the reading doesnt budge. The case temp on the otherhand in bios reports fine. but not for MBM - i wonder if its to do with the config as they now have that lovely motherboard selection built into MBM - i might of selected the wrong neo! the case temp in windows reports 20/21 bios telling me its in the 30's - which is accurate as hdd temps are in their 30's.

I think the thing you should try with your system is to get hold of another PSU to try 1st - cheaper than a different GFX i'd guess(?) or maybe a cheap pci card....

I think I might just RMA the board. I'm buying a ultra-D from fatty to tide me over while my SLI-D is at RMA.

I had exact same problem as this - stripped down the board to find condesation on the back and al the little components were suffering from oxidisation/corrosion.

It was too late for me, the board ahd gone, maybe thats the problem you are having and it's not too late.

Yeah just make sure you put something like dialetic grease in over the components - stops the air making contacting with them.
