cables under the mobo

Permafrost

Compo Whore
hi guys, it's been some time since i posted something asking for help so here it is

I'm building a new gaming pc and i know you can run a 8-pin cpu under the mobo i was thinking what else you can do it with as all my cable a single sleeved i was think 24-pin and/or 2 x 6-pin maybe?

You generally don't need to for those cables, unlike the 8 pin, as most cases provide grommets in those locations.

I personally don't run any cables under the motherboard.

Should have run the front IO cables under, but forgot to, and cba to take the motherboard out for that now.

It depends what cables though.

If you have individually braided ones, then you may get away with it. If not, the bunch for the 24pin will be too thick and you won't get the board in.

As said, you don't really need to run them like that - and for something like the 24pin it may be more effort than it's worth to bend it round.

It may help to do it with PCIE cables I suppose as it would keep them tight...
So maybe CPU, IO and PCIE, but not 24pin.

i was just wounding why it might not be a good idea for safety reasons that's all i might do a build log....

As long as it's not bending the motherboard I don't see any reason why not to try.
