Hi there, was sent this guide on how to sleeve cables without using heatshrink and have seen people asking in threads how to do it. Maybe this will be some use to you all.

Step 1 strip 1cm from the cable.

Step 2 put braid on cable and melt with lighter -while still hot squah it smaller to the wires

Step 3 put cable and braid in to molex crimp then push in to tool and crimp

Step 4 put cable in to molex plug socket and see with no shrink

Hope this helps you all.

Thanks for this mate I'll have to check into it. my issue is I wasnt wanting to have to re-crimp every wire lol But I must say it makes it look so much better

I'd also suggest you put the credits at the start of the post as well. something like copied from www.xxx forum Author Evocarlos and make 100% sure you have his name spelled and typed exactly as it appears on the other site.

He's a freind of mine and hasnt posted else where, so he said post it to help people i've showed him and he said its fine

Only thing I'd be worried about is burning the wire when trying to melt the heat shrink a little. Good thing have i loads of sleeving laying around with connectors but no crimps

going to have to be care full and try it on a molex to pci-e 6pin that have tons of in my cupboard. I too wouldn't like to re-crimp wire aswell but may learn to in the future

Just put order through for some braiding tools such as a crimper, crimp pins for molex, sata, pci-e and ATX plus also the pin remover tools.

Time to get practicing when the stuff arrives

thank you so much, been looking at how to do this for ages

May just have to make some cables for myself then sleeve them

will save time on de-crimping, and means I can get the wires underneath a good colour to match the sleeving

will need a fully modular psu first though
