Fantastic guide thank you, I've ordered myself the materials and will set aside a few hours to do my 6, 8's and 24 pin cables :)

I thought the same thing, it took maybe 20 - 30 minutes to get the hang of it and after that I was lacing away like a pro. Very satisfying.

Excellent, looking forward to the results! :)

That is so good to hear, because when I was developing the technique,
that was actually something I placed importance on, it not being overly
complicated. I knew that I wanted to lace all my cables in HELIOS, so if it
was too complicated, it was going to take for-freaking-eva! It still took a
few hours, but overall the time/result ratio was pretty satisfying in my
experience. Very nice to hear that that is the case for others as well. :)

I found a guide from the historic naval ships association for reference :) For a slightly different look - I'll be giving it a go soon :)

Haha, that is awesome, I actually used that as a resource when developing
my version! Nice! :D

Looking forward to your results then. :)

EDIT:
Forgot: I actually used some of the knots on that page for other stuff.
Figure 9-66 is what I use for the sleeving on HELIOS instead of heat
shrink.

I have no idea how this thread hasn't became a sticky. I'm going to have to convince one of the mods to correct this injustice!

Thread just got shared on Facebook, lets keep this trend going guys, its still very young and doesnt get the attention it really deserves.

I gave it a jolly good share on failbook when I did my rig, I guess it's one of those things that once you've done it it quickly gets forgotten.. unless someone asks. But I agree it does not get the props it deserves.

You can thank me for that

For how much it cleans up the look of PCs it really isn't used enough, if only we could convince TTL to lace a build.

I'm also talking with the forum mods to turn this into a sticky thread, lacing is a thing that is very OC3D and deserves recognition.

I must say I'm very happy to see how popular this has been become,
thanks for all the support guys! :)

Side note: I haven't been around much lately due to bad health, not
because I'm abandoning oc3d. Just FYI. ;)

Looks like it's done guys, we have ourselves a sticky thread :).

Congrats guys, lets hope we see more cable sleeving in future builds and perhaps a few different methods or lacing designs.

You guys in project logs have so many idea's flowing in my head now, almost convinced myself to gut my RV03 completely and make it more... RV02/FT02?
I don't think I have the money to try something that ambitious, but perhaps it is an idea to put on the back burner.

I don't know, the last one was such a disaster. now we need to find a way to take lacing to the next level!

Stickied last night ;)

I would, but Shaun is being naked again.

Black and white build with green accents anyone?

Just stumbled across this guide, and I must say that I love the idea of this. Great explanations too: you guys made it look extremely easy in the guide ;)

Also, Alpenwasser, I'm really sorry to hear that and I hope you'll get better soon! :(

Really looking forward to your build then Feronix, it sounds interesting!

Gunna give this a crack today! Please stand by for my rage from failure haha

Haha, that's what where here for. :P

Thanks, that was indeed one of the objectives (I'd tried a few
other techniques and tutorials and they seemed much too
complicated for my tastes, which is why I devised something
of my own). :)

Thanks, and yeah, I should be up and running again at some
point. :D

Fun fact: I failed lacing the cable the way it's made in that tutorial and made my own thing out of it (see my build) :D
