ok, so i got the HDD from the auction. it arrived soon enough but to my horror the circuit board was just slightly different (only two little chips where in differnt places) the rest looked the same and the model number was the same and even the date of manufacture was close, so i thaught i may aswell give it a shot.
Ahhh the hard disk powers up and stuff but the computer does'nt pick it up and i was kinda p-o'd.
Well then i went back onto the bay and searched for days on end for the same model number for my HDD and when i came across one i had to email the seller and ask them if they would be so kind as to send me the pic of the circuit board so i could compare. needless to say half the sellers were'nt bothered but the few that were showed a differnt circuit board than what i required.
I was begining to loose hope when i tried one more guy, he sent me a pic straight away and it was the exact same circuit board! Hurrah! i bought it off him and it arrived yesterday. Switched out the boards and it worked!!! i got my data back! whoopee!!!
i've transfered the data over to another drive and now all i have to do is switch the boards back and send the busted drive off for warranty and claim a new drive! happy days.
