So apparently not many people know how to build a pc. Which i find odd since it really is not too hard to build a great looking fast pc. Anyways i have been helping some of my dorm-mates build pcs on strict budgets, so i thought i might post some pics of my handiwork to try to get a few compliments to feed my ever growing ego. Anyways, this first build is a Gigabyte z68, i5 2500k, 6870 build, which is overclocked extremely conservatively at 1.26 volts at 4.4 ghz (temps are 55 degrees at full load on a CM GT V6) he wanted a purple theme, so I went with Xigmatek purple led fans. They are very quite, and they move a fair bit of air.
I had no cable ties, so i had to reuse the twist ties from Seasonic, that is why it is a bit messy at the bottom. personally i don't like it to look uber clean(yes i like it dirty laugh away), but good airflow is a must.

The following was the more budget of the two builds I have done while at school, with only $550 dollars for the entire tower. I went with a Gigabyte 970 UD3B, Athlon X3 4xx (cant remember if it was the 445 or 455 of the top of my head, but it was only 65 bucks) and a Visontek 6770. Runs everything he throws at it on very respectable settings at 1080p. Since he just has a stock cooler I did not increase volts but i was able to get it to 3.5 Ghz just by increasing the FSB a bit, it made no difference in temps really.
I think we all get carried away with the uber-builds on this site, so i thought it might be refreshing to see what you can do for less than 900 dollars. On Friday i will be building a pc for my roommates girlfriend, and she wanted rainbow chameleon fans and a white case. Based on her usage i opted for AMD's new A8 3870k, so I will post pictures and some performance numbers when i get a chance in case anyone cares about APU's.
