Building a new system, need advice

Not sure about the memory I've chosen. Going with 2x2GB OCZ Reaper. Wondering is it too big to add another 2x2GB down the line.

The other thing I am undecided about is the PSU. I'm looking for a 1200W plus PSU.

Here is the configuration I'm looking at, at the moment.

Can you see anything wrong with the rest of my selection?

Any advice greatly appreciated :wavey:

Reserators hurt my feelings a little bit... Well over priced. For that money, you could buy a whole custom setup that would trash the reserator.

agreed, that is the only downer on that build

so many ppl saw this thread and no one have seen this little thing.

This mobo uses crossfire technology not sli,so those two gtx that you have picked up will not work together ;]

if you want to have 2 g-force on board buy some 790i based mobo (EVGA, or asus) or wait for new X58 chipset as they say it will have both SLI and Crossfire.

My suggestion is to wait a bit and change those two GTX for brand new ATI radeon 4870x2 with is comming in middle of august, one card but it will defenetly eat those 2 gtx ;]

BTW as it is introduction section , welcome to oveclock3d forum mate:)

Changed things again

I found few other overclocked GTX200 series cards and a couple of water cooled cases to dump the Zalman Reserator XT. Don't know if I can hold out for 4870x2 .Heres what i'm thinking of now.

About cases , check Thermal Take Armor LCS, it have build in watercooling and its much cheaper than those and if you need watercooling just for CPU it will be enough (its less than 200£)

And if you are staying with this mobo , instead of buying expensive GTX try crosffired 2 x Radeon 4870 or 2x 4850, should work much better and it will be same price.

second thing is why you need 1200W PSU? for this configuration 1000w max (850w should be enough).

I want to cool water cool everything graphics card, CPU.

I went a 1200W because I want to future proof. A 3 way Sli or Crossfire down the road. Thanks for the advice I'll check out the Thermal Take Armor LCS

Moved thread to a more appropriate place and welcome to OC3D too mate :wavey:

Watch the Foxconn Blackops they can be fickle with memory. Great board if you're going to utilise everything that comes with it.

I would stay away from the Thermaltake Armor LCS and stick with the Cosmos S from WCUK that you linked to earlier if I were you. It's a great chassis for water-cooling and you get some great quality cooling hardware included.

I'm looking to overclock and want to future proof. Looking for a good watercooling option. Maybe either tri SLi or CrossFire sometime in the future. These are the parts I'm interested in, but think I will wait for the reviews of the 4870x2 when it goes on sale.

Thanks I've been wanting to build a system like this for a long time but didn't have the cash. My previous attempt met with limited success in fact I should be in the guinness book of records for having the most system crashes ever
