AS per your request good egon ... hey man nvm building the rail its been done ... proton packs on the other hand ill contribute to that project (as long as i get my new toy that is)

Front n back, so first was just bend and solder... Then was like, ooo ahh, duh, why not use some copper tubing, much better at taken on the major amperage load. So capillary tube it was, wrapped the leads around, and soldered away. Not what to do with the other....

Those leads on the two banks of caps look very close together, what voltages are you going to be putting across that?

Yar they may be close. I'm probably going to remove them. Or add LET and redo the first bank wit capillary tube as well. Only 24V for this bank.

I've delayed payment till I decide if thats what I really want. I think I may just go with the copper ones at first, and F if i melt them.

Bah was $54 for 8 aluminum rods shipped.

I went copper, two 1/4" x 7.75" x 1" or something copper rods for $24.49 shiped.

I have a crazy idea (as usual). Why not use glycerin or oil and liquid cool the rails?

The point is to not have heat in the rails. By having a different material, a softer one, for the armature. It will most likely be heated up and often turn into a plasma armature or plasma trail. Cooling of the rails is made hard by the fact that they have incredibly huge currents going thru them
