Actually, I build VM's for businesses, so having 32GB ram and a 6 core makes a helluva lot of sense for me.
And considering the price difference between 8GB and 16GB, why would you settle for less ?
Windows as an OS itself can only use maximum of 4gb as it's coded in 32 bit. Programs, such as games, are also coded in 4gb, meaning they can only really use a maximum of 4gb. So for a gaming rig, anymore than 8gb will never be used, and so it's pointless to buy it.
As for the processors...games and pretty much every other program out there isnt even utilised to run with anymore than 2 cores. Because of this, there's actually no gains whatsoever in even running a 3960x i7 over a 2120 i3.
The only time when having an i7 and more than 8gb of RAM can help is while rendering images / videos, as these programs are designed to utilise everything they can on a computer.
As for the closing the thread cause of opinions BS...this isnt opinion, this is fact. Don't ask for mods to close the thread just because you dont like what we're saying, because that's massively ignorant and disrespectful of the people trying to help you...also exactly what another user used to do when he didnt like the advice we gave him.
