well I don't exactly play the game myself...and definitely dont manage servers for any game...
And if that's the case, either your 7GB usage, again, is pure BS, or your computer is infected with a lot of malware.

+1 on this mate. I use 8gb ram, pretty overkill to be honest, the maximum ram usage I've seen till now is 5gb during GTA IV with pagefile disabled. Bought this much ram cause I like to tweak operating systems in vmware to which i assign 4gb out of the available 8gb, so yeah 8gb is more than enough...

So I have been watching this thread and I have to say if your friend is using this for LANs like you said he is never going to use 16gb of ram ever under no circumstance taking myself as the MOST artificial use of a gaming pc I run 2 monitors, skype, a minecraft server, 2 windows of google chrome, fraps, steam, and itunes all at the same time and I'm maxing out at about 4-4.05 gb of ram usage. On I side note if you are using 7gb of ram on daily activities you need to backup your system now and for the love everything holy reformat your system because you have something nasty in your system.

That's just because you don't have enough RAM for those programs to chomp on, dude.
You've probably entered into the realms of virtual memory, if you've saturated your 1gb so much.
Chrome, for me, is quite a memory hog - I'm not good when it comes to closing tabs, and I am an avid watched of the 'Tube.

Yeah I do lack RAM. My computer was kind of frozen at that point. I hardly use ReadyBoost. Only use a 2GB USB for it, which hardly boosts performance. I just opened those applications for him to show that you don't need that much RAM.
Still I think that he might have a virus. Because 7gb for 2 flash games, arma2, a firefox tab, chrome and whatever he mentioned more, is a lot.
