Getting there. I just hate the sheer amount of cables I have to clean up. The backside is a nightmare from hell.
Downside of this PSU is being forced to have the PSU face up, meaning I cannot use the PSU shroud.
Will have to try and make my own to hide those cables.
On that note... really disappointed with this D5. While its nice and quiet, it cant even bleed my system on 100% power properly. Either its faulty or I will just go back to my DDC pumps. Even on full the waterblock only reads 1LPH through it. Which is bad considering the optimal flow rate is 1 GPH.
Testing my cable cover for the backboard too. Just a couple of practise attempts. Made a groove along the side to see if my idea would work.
No idea how the lighting would be.
On that note, anyone know how to convert Corsairs connectors over to the standard A RGB. Im not a fan of lighting aside from white but its a little silly when I have to use 2 software apps to unify it all. ASUS has its armorycrate and Corsair has iCue.
While I can connect the ASUS board to iCue, it does not sync the GPU and Memory to iCue.

I was watching a build log over at Kit Guru recently.
James at KG made a crazy build log with his own 1000D and watching his video... I think for the first time I have been convinced to cut the case. He made a nice little addition to cut out the HDD cage completely and put a blanking plate in its place to hide the back side.
I want to go one step further and create a blanking plate with the Aquaaero 6XT display mounted into it.
I'm also considering a blanking plate in the floor too which will allow me to mount my MCP35x2 pumps back in the case. As much as I like the all in one design for the D5, its performance just isnt that great for me. On 100% PWM it still cant shift the small bubble in the CPU block.
I also think I will use the case PSU shroud, but make some cuts to allow the PSU to breathe.
Lets see... I just need to tear things down again, but will probably start on the weekend.

I've been playing on the new wheel, no support for Dirt 5 but everything else is now working fine so fiddly doing settings and getting the cars to feel right and playable mainly in PC2 and ACC, did test VR but i think i need to redo settings for them as the quality didn't look right idk if they have dual settings one for outside and one for inside VR.

Good luck lifting it though. I weighed mine and it hit 48kilos. Hes running an additional 2x 360 rads

I sense extra cooling in your future
I'll do a WC rig one day maybe, but atm i'm turning away from upgrades as tbh my PC is solid these days, so i'm more leaning towards a steam deck atm and worry about PC upgrades when they are needed rather than wanted
My other issue I have atm is I have 3x3tb drives 1x4tb 2x1tbnvme's and a 250gb for OS and they are pretty much full, if i upgrade and need to reinstall it'll be a nightmare so i'm trying to avoid this thou most can carry over, but some extra space would be nice at times XD

More games than i have time to play for the rest of my life, also more than any large gaming shop sells
Some music and series ect.
What can i say i'm an addict and never know what i want to play, needless to say my backlog is vast but maybe only half is installed generally.
Put it this way if there is a game from your past you enjoyed i most likely have it XD
They do get played it's the newer stuff that doesnt always get played even if i enjoy it, as it needs to be very good to hold my attention
Wasn't completely satisfied with the loop plan, and also realised I need to cut out unwanted parts so I have more space.
HDD tray removed. Was never used at all and just served as a cave to hide cables.
Cables in place but looking like more organised chaos.
Holes in the tray drilled. Made one larger than the other to allow for adjustments with the spirit level in order to get it spot on.
Reservoir relocated to the tray.

My next task is to work on the PSU cables. Decided to cut the shroud so the Watt consumption was still visible.

I havent posted for a while because my photo quality was sub par at best. Not sure what was up with my phone camera, but I had a shot at using a proper camera, and boy does it pick up all the dust and flaws... quite embarassing.
Anyways, Changed the shape to give it a more open feel.
My attempts with a proper camera. Poor angle, poor lighting, poor overall except the cut in my opinion
Unfinished but test fitting seemed ok. Metal dust, and general dust all over the place so apologies for that. I severely underestimated the gap between the shroud and the side of the PSU. It did not look very good at all. My plan was to make a simple frame around it, but I need to adjust for the large gap too.

It turned out ok. Now I have options. Either reprint another in Silver to follow the theme of the silver in the motherboard, or possibly use some mirror wrap to add some reflection to the display... or both, not decided yet, but since pops in and out without effort, I can change it at any time.
Now I can address the PSU fan, same idea as the side display. Create a frame to clean it up. This time it has a nice low profile.
Again, might redo this in Silver
And as you can see, there appears to be oxidation on the shroud. Had it stored in the basement where I can only assume it got a little wet.
Overall I am quite happy with the result. But there are always small improvements I can make which will come in time.
I tried to capture a good photo while it was powered and illuminated. Red was used only to see if I could get a better picture, but I think I failed. Looks much better in person.
Alot more spacious compared to before with the wires and 6XT controller laying on the floor.
And picked up this new Quantum drain valve from EK. Outstanding little device, and much smaller than your standard ball valves.
