Build log of my oc3d CC comp prize

A massive thankyou for the game! It's all downloaded, so i'll be playing it through tomorrow.
Look forward to seeing what you can get out of your chip once the H80 comes along.

news im now officially overclocked and considering i still dont have an aftermarket cpu cooler i think its doing well i reccon ill hit 4.5 easy on my chip once i do anyhoo >>

You are doing good since that is what I see with the H60. I tried 4.3 and it will do it, but is borderline and 4.4 gets it temp maxed in short order. I'm thinking of doing a mod on the case. I have done similar in past cases and had good results in air flow and fan noise reduction. Where the rad fan is located on the back of the case there is a lot of material impeding air flow. I might get out my sheet metal nibbler and cut that material out. I already have wire fan guards in my stash of stuff that are as free flowing as you can get besides having nothing blocking flow. A nice gold plated one I have would look nice.

Good score that you got on 3DM11. Just goes to show how the drivers have improved (well at least on one card).

Here is a 7970 run two days after launch with a I7 950 @ 4ghz.

thanks bud hopefully in the next few weeks ill have something decent cooling my cpu then i can really see what my rigs capable of :D

updates incoming finally had the cash to order my h80i but didnt have it in stock so now getting a h55 2013 edition which is being delivered next monday!! woohoo finally gonna be able to overclock past 4.4ghz..

other update is my window mod for my shinobi is now on hold due to my brother breaking my jigsaw which i cant replace for at least 2 months but i do have the plexi glass was gonna try the score and snap method.. but that turned into an epic fail as i managed to crack my orriginal tinted red sheet so now its just gonna be clear...

corsair h55 fitted :D it was delivered yesterday whilst i was watching man of steel at the cinema im over the moon my overclock is now at a stable 4.5ghz 1.225v idle is 28c!! and load 61c.

was 41c idle last night i think the cpu paste needed curing... i ran prime overnight no issues and when i stopped it is when i saw the temp change's :D

only thing left to do on my rig is the window mod but that can wait and im quite happy with it how it is :D

build complete!

final image of my rig major thanks to corsair/gigabyte Aria and Oc3d :D >>

That PWM cable could be a tad more tidy and the fan needs a clean. Other than that, it looks good ;)

was in the middle of cleaning the rig when i took the photo.. as for the pwm cable you mean the one coming off of the corsair aio unit? if so cant really make it any better.

the fan cable is as tight as i can get it too unless i completely pull the rig apart send all my fans and cables off to pexon for braiding, which i cant afford and its functional now with good airflow so i don't see a point :D

What if you tie it together so that it will looks like one cable and then tuck the end behind the motherboard? Might just work :p

hmmn didn't think of that will give it ago next saturday when i have to dust it out again, had to order more dust off again today.

i hate the summer for some reason my pc seems to get more dust even though most of the fans are on exhaust only the front 2 are intakes and there also behind the bezal and an air filter...

When you have more exhaust than intake it will pull air and dust into the case through little gaps and holes (can't exhaust more air than that's in there, right?). Try to keep positive air pressure (more intake than exhaust).

It will then be the other way around, and push the air OUT of the case through these little gaps. You could try getting a dust filter for the rear and then run it as an intake.

Looks good:)
Just get rid of optical drive, fix some cables, and clean your rear FAN;)

if i got rid of the optical drive my mrs would moan as i sold the ps3 thats now my only blueray player...

the fan well whole rig is clean now i have to clean it every week..
