Budget Gaming PC for £400

Well guess alot of you would have done things probably alot different, but put this together on a budget and really happy with results. Never built a pc from scratch before and did this in around 2 hours. Got a win index of 7.2 with lowest score being cpu and disk speed. Upshot thought is it's nearly silent and plays all my games on highest settings with great frame rates.

The bits and bobs arrived.

Yes i know standard CPU fan but give me time. Also note to self..Thermal paste gets everywhere on your clothes if you're not careful.

£123 well spent..only for another one to be delivered next day. They still haven't asked for it back so selling it could offset the cost of this build quite a bit.

Bit of a mess but can live that until i tidy it up a bit.

The final product. Everything working and very quiet even with four case fans. Not bad for £400 including OS.

Personally I would have spent less on the ssd's and got a nicer case :L

And also ocz really isn't the way to go.

They were £29 each for 60gb ones so wasn't complaining. Going for a Sata 3 after i have got my i5 / i7 in there. This is just the basics to get me going with something i can play high settings with. Don't need huge power, just comfortable gaming.

Only put retrievable items on the SSDs. The OS, downloadable programs as well as games - all things that can be easily redownloaded if the SSD goes kaput. Stuff like documents and pictures, ones that aren't backed up somewhere else, should be kept away from anything OCZ :p

I have been running OCZ ssd's in raid 0 for nearly 2 years now - still llightning fast and never had a glitch with them. Their psu's I'd steer clear of, but in my experience the ssd's are fine.

all our work pcs have OCZ and not one has failed so that's why i went with them. But am going to put a Sata3 in this month but not decided if for OS or games yet. Prob OS is best bet.
