now we've been looking at cutting bills at home and our combined sky, phone and internet works out at over £80 a month so we went browsing.

We can across BT Vision and it all sounds OK..unlimited up to 8mb broadband, home phone and the TV stations with recordable live tv etc.. all for £50ish a month.

Does anyone here have first hand experience on this service, how unlimited is unlimited, how are my 4 other wifi products going to handle the switch...what tv do you actually get to watch (couldn't find the simpsons, ncis, csi or chuck in their programme listings)

Now before you jump on me for even thinking of switching to BT instead of a specialist like idnet, we use the PC less for gaming these days and only really download a few movies a month (not that I condone pirating, it's illegal etc...)

Is it OK or a load of old tosh?

I aint had B.T befor but i hear that there aint the best,

Out ther what about virgin medea ?

Some say its beter than sky.

If you have cable go for virgin media, if adsl you should only consider virgin if your exchange does not have CW/Bulldog LLU capacity (check samknows)

If so, dont bother, go with BT. No matter what ADSL provider you go with, any faults are sent to BT anyway as its all their equipment (unless LLU). All you get with other ISPs is a longer fault turnaround and maybe better customer service (which counts for jack if your nets broke)

Sky is a good option also but again, your fault will have to go through in-house assessments before its sent to BT wholesale for more tests. Ya dig?

Our Virgin bill came to about £90 (without sky movies or sports). that was XL tv, XL bb and phone.. Sky its like £60 (with sky movies) sky max and sky talk. Sky has like 30 HD channels aswell (if you've got a HDTV)

Hi aydst

i have bt unlimited and have never had a problem with it, i download a lots of stuff and have never come close to the fair usage limit which i think is 60gb a month, the package comes with mcafee security suite which works fine. You get all the freeview channels on btvision as well as movies and music on a pay per view basis. The Vbox works well as a recorder so all in all iam happy with it

Bill
