A fitting name for a black and blue colour scheme, and it kicks alot more arse than my previous system.

The first two shots are of the Thermaltake Dokker case and the 3 HDD which were installed with the old bits, which were a Gigabyte AMD board, Athlon X2 6000+ @3Ghz and a whopping 4 gigs of DDR2 @800Mhz.

I added a mates old Asus 260 SP216 as a PhysX card but have yet to take a pic of it.

Sorry about the URL's. I will need to edit the pics down to an acceptable size to get them posted as pics, rather than links. Maybe I'll get around to that during the holidays.

Merry Christmas guys and gals.

looks good man but we need some after cable management shots lol.

also you need to post the IMG Code from photobucket to get the images to show up in the forum rather than the link

Those wires :o
are you going to leave it like that ?

EDIT just noticed the little text.......

lol he said he's gonna manage the cables once the rest of the rig is done... be still, and await the passing of the storm x-)

I had it fairly tidy, I just didnt have any pics with the wires cleaned up. As it is a non-modular psu its hard to hide the wires I dont need. Hence my want for an AX760i. I made it a little messy again when I stuck my mates old GTX260SP216 as an experiment to see how it performed as a PhysX card.

Once I get the Corsair AX760i, C70 case, and H100i, the system will be much cleaner and more complete, with the only future wants being a better gpu, another SSD or two, and a WD Green for more storage. With nearly 2TB of storage already it isn't a pressing need.

hey BANG love the RAM just got me 16gb of those recently in my Orange Box Build:p

Looking forward to the rest of your build log. :)

The switch from a dual core AMD and 800Mhz (2z2GB) ram to an Intel quad core and 2133Mhz is mind boggling. The performance gain is almost indescribable. All I can say is 'I'm happy again.' :)

Once I get the new Corsair case, psu, and cooler I could upgrade to a 3770k (just cuz its uber) and Mpower and would essentially have two complete systems,
one of which would be dedicated to Folding. I could join the OC3D team then.
I would join now but I'm too busy enjoying my rig to allow it much time to fold. :)

in 2006 i had a amd x2 5200+ for a short time so i feel your pain i know how slow they are! i had 4gb 800mhz memory as well.

since then i've been on intel, first with the q6600 in 2007 then the i7 920 in 2009 then 3770k.

i can only imagine what it feels like to go right from the amd dual core to an ivy bridge chip :p

looking forward to seeing more :)

OMG you are reminding me (quite painfully) of how long I was on that old rig - at least 4 yers too long :(

The good news is: its boxed up :)

LOL thats the third thing to make a departure on my list. Okay, maybe second. First though will be to get an H100i. Then it's a tossup between a new AX760i and a C70 Vengeance. I had it in mind to get the case first but I might have to rethink that.

The Thermaltake has been a good psu, nothing wrong with it other than its not modular so I cant lose unneeded wires :(

It will make a decent hand-me-down to my 12 year old daughter when I build her a rig.
